Chapter 512 - An Xin's Suspicion

Hearing the news, An Xin also walked toward the deck.

As soon as she exited the cabin door, her gaze swept toward the river.

She walked toward the railing while observing, only realizing upon getting closer that the people standing by the railing were Jiang Cheng and his group.

Seeing them gathered together chatting, An Xin subconsciously changed direction, intending to avoid them.

Although she had already moved on from Jiang Cheng internally, An Xin felt she couldn't pretend nothing happened and socialize cheerfully with Jiang Cheng and Yu Xiaoxiao.

However, after hearing Qin Fen say that the person who fell into the river was Wen Ang, An Xin couldn't help but stop.

She stared wide-eyed, looking at Jiang Cheng in disbelief.

She then walked toward Qin Fen and asked, "Mr. Qin, is what you said true? Was the person who fell really Wen Ang? What exactly happened?"

Seeing An Xin appear suddenly, Qin Fen glanced at Jiang Cheng.

They all knew Wen Ang was pursuing An Xin, but An Xin wasn't interested.

Even so, they all guessed that An Xin must be feeling upset now that something had happened to Wen Ang.

Qin Fen dropped his gloating tone, spread his hands awkwardly, and said, "We just heard it from Li Zewei, Planning Department Manager. We heard he got drunk and fell into the river, but we don't know if the news is true."

Hearing this, An Xin subconsciously looked toward Jiang Cheng.

After all, even before the party started, An Xin had sensed the killing intent Jiang Cheng held toward Wen Ang.

An Xin was already aware of Jiang Cheng's influence in Tyrande.

While in Tyrande, Jiang Cheng saved Annie, and then had the people around him deal with those who kidnapped Annie.

An Xin, who was fluent in Thai, had known about this for a long time.

It was from that time that An Xin knew Jiang Cheng was not just a simple rich young master.

Seeing An Xin staring at him, Jiang Cheng calmly looked at the undulating river surface and said in a cold tone, "They can't even find someone who fell into the river? Was he too drunk??"

When the others first heard about this, they were just as shocked as An Xin.

However, by now, they had already recovered from their initial shock.

No trace of other emotion could be seen on their faces; they were still as carefree as usual.

Wang Congcong was the first to speak: "More than ten minutes have passed since the salvage operation started. The golden hour for rescue is long gone. This guy is probably doomed."

Chen Hao and Wen Ang had considerable bad blood between them.

After all, their two families were competitors.

Moreover, the rapid rise of the wen family could easily affect the corporate standing of their own family.

So, when something happened to Wen Ang at this moment, he felt more happiness than surprise.

Unlike Qin Fen, he didn't hide his emotions.

He said with a touch of regret, "But it's still hard to say whether he actually fell into the water. After all, he just disappeared, and none of the people around him saw him fall."

Hearing this, An Xin's brows furrowed again: "Then how do they know he fell into the water?"

"People on other yachts saw it. It was too dark then, and they only saw a figure fall into the water. The witnesses said they didn't hear the person calling for help. Who knows if he was too drunk or what? They then sailed over and told the people on their boat."

Hearing this, An Xin felt even more suspicious. It was stranger that the people around him didn't see him fall, only people on other yachts did.

After receiving the answer, An Xin put away her suspicious gaze and began to look calmly at the river surface.

She saw over a dozen salvage personnel busy on the river, but it was exactly as Wang Congcong had said.

The golden rescue time had already passed. Even if they managed to retrieve him, it would likely be useless.

Ever since she learned that Wen Ang had planted Luo Jia in Jiang Cheng's company, An Xin had wanted to talk to Jiang Cheng.

Luo Jia's family had been disfigured in a car accident, and An Xin naturally knew what kind of tactics were being employed behind such incidents.

After all, Annie's father had passed away in the same manner.

For people with certain influence, this was standard procedure.

But this wasn't abroad.

An Xin originally wanted to tell Jiang Cheng not to act rashly.

She didn't expect it to be too late.

Listening to their conversation, Jiang Cheng's expression didn't change at all, and even Wang Sheng behind him looked extremely calm.

Although Wang Sheng hadn't explicitly told him, Jiang Cheng knew this incident was 100% the handiwork of the Security Team.

Compared to the two of them, Yu Xiaoxiao, standing nearby, appeared somewhat flustered.

Seeing An Xin looking at Jiang Cheng, her expression involuntarily turned cold.

After all, she could understand exactly what that look meant.

Although she suspected the matter was related to Jiang Cheng.

Ever since Zhang Yu suddenly disappeared, Yu Xiaoxiao knew Jiang Cheng was not just an ordinary eighteen-year-old boy.

This man might possess methods and power she couldn't imagine.

But even so, Yu Xiaoxiao would not allow others to suspect Jiang Cheng regarding this matter.

There was no proof, and besides, this wasn't a good thing to suspect.

Yu Xiaoxiao stared unhappily at An Xin and said, "Jiang Cheng, it's a good thing we stayed at the auction and didn't wander out. The wind on the river tonight is really strong, and it's too dangerous for boating."

Yu Xiaoxiao's words implied that Jiang Cheng had a perfect alibi, urging An Xin to drop her suspicious gaze.

Yu Xiaoxiao's protective demeanor irritated An Xin.

Although she sincerely wished Jiang Cheng and Yu Xiaoxiao well.

This was only true when they weren't interacting.

In this confrontational situation involving the three of them, An Xin still couldn't suppress the jealousy deep within her heart.

An Xin did not explain Yu Xiaoxiao's misunderstanding. Instead, she deliberately looked at Jiang Cheng and said intimately, "Jiang Cheng, I have something I want to talk to you about privately."

The people nearby raised their eyebrows and watched the spectacle when they saw An Xin giving off a subtle flirtatious vibe toward Jiang Cheng.

Seeing Yu Xiaoxiao looking defensive, Jiang Cheng patted the back of her hand, signaling her to relax.

The Danger Perception Skill gave no warning, indicating that An Xin posed absolutely no threat to him.
