Chapter 601 - I Have a Question

The walk-in closet was packed to the brim.

You have to understand that every room was exceptionally large; the walk-in closet alone was nearly twenty square meters.

Such a large closet was filled entirely with luxury clothes and bags.

Fang Yuan had to admit that, as a woman, she felt a wave of envy the moment she saw this.

She wasn't envious because she couldn't afford these things herself.

She was envious because she had never met a man who treated her this well.

Since Fang Yuan was home, Zhou Ying shyly glanced toward the bedroom door and gave Jiang Cheng a nudge. "You should go home tonight. It's not right with my mom here."

Jiang Cheng pulled Zhou Ying into his arms, feeling the direct contact of her 'pandas.'

"I don't think your mom cares. Didn't you hear what she said? She said she was going to rest and told us to make ourselves at home."

Seeing Jiang Cheng's hands wandering again, Zhou Ying glared at him in dissatisfaction. "You can't go too far. Count for yourself, how many times has it been?"

Despite her words, Zhou Ying let out a soft, muffled groan.

Jiang Cheng didn't look at her, burying his face directly between those two large blocks of 'tofu.'

This action caused Zhou Ying's body to stiffen instantly, and she couldn't help but tilt her head back.

In her daze, she heard Jiang Cheng's voice drifting up from below: "I'm a guy who doesn't drink, smoke, or go clubbing. I'm just a little 'lustful'—is that so wrong?"

Although Zhou Ying's head was spinning, she still instinctively rejected his claim. "You drink, smoke, go clubbing, AND you're lustful. I didn't know you were such a rogue before."

The shyer Zhou Ying became, the more Jiang Cheng wanted to tease her. "There's one thing I'm actually quite curious about."

"Hmm? What is it?"

"I see that the hair on your head is quite thick, so you don't seem like someone who lacks hair. How is it that...?"

Hearing this, Zhou Ying knew exactly what he was getting at and could no longer keep her composure.

Blushing furiously, she tried to push Jiang Cheng away, but he wouldn't give her the chance.

He caught her hand, looked down at her flushed cheeks, and coaxed her softly, "I've already seen it several times. Why are you so shy? Let me see again?"

"No! You're not allowed to look anymore. I've been like this since I was a child. Can you stop asking such questions?"

Jiang Cheng's brow twitched at her words. Could this kind of thing be hereditary?

If it really was hereditary, that would be amazing.

With that thought, Jiang Cheng tossed Zhou Ying onto the bed... More than two hours later, Jiang Cheng finally returned to his own home.

As soon as he opened the door, he saw his parents in the living room watching the evening news.

Seeing Jiang Cheng walk in, Li Yan looked him up and down, then teased him with a knowing smile, "Oh? You changed your clothes?"

Jiang Cheng understood what Li Yan meant and replied with a grin, "I was drinking with them last night. If I didn't change, you'd probably kick me out of the house."

After he sat down, Jiang Jianming said, "Your mom knew you were coming back for dinner, so she ordered Haidilao delivery in advance."

"Did you win money today?" Jiang Cheng asked.

Li Yan was in a great mood and said with a chuckle, "I won big today. My luck was fantastic; I won over two thousand yuan."

Every time Li Yan won at mahjong, she would treat them to a big meal or go out for barbecue.

Although the amount wasn't always large, winning was always a good thing.

Winning meant his mother was in a good mood.

In a household, as long as the lady of the house is happy, everything is good.

Moreover, the atmosphere of the family celebrating together was great; it was Jiang Cheng's favorite time.

"Not bad, not bad. It looks like I came back just in time. Does this mean the big meals for the next few days are also covered?"

"You wish. I just ordered from that very popular Haidilao. Just ordering a few things already cost half of it."

Jiang Cheng said playfully, "Then what about the other half?"

Li Yan gave Jiang Cheng a playful slap. "You little brat, you're always the sharpest."

"By the way, the house is bought. It's next to Deer Lake, a three-story villa. The scenery is great, and the surrounding facilities are very complete. Shall we go take a look tomorrow?"

Jiang Jianming nodded. "Next to Deer Lake? That's right nearby."

"Yes, it's only about a ten-minute drive from our house, just a few kilometers. I checked, and if we take the backroads, it's even closer."

Seeing how close it was, Li Yan nodded with satisfaction and said, "Old Jiang, your son's income has not only surpassed yours, but he's even bought a villa."

Seeing Li Yan teasing him, Jiang Jianming cleared his throat.

He felt proud of his son in his heart, but he didn't want to show it too obviously.

So he acted calm and said, "Who was it that said before they didn't like living in villas?"

Li Yan shrugged. "That was then. Now that my son is successful and bought a house, of course I'm going to live there."

"Fine, keep up your double standards."

Watching Jiang Jianming and Li Yan bicker, Jiang Cheng chuckled and added, "This house didn't cost any money; it was a gift."

Jiang Jianming glanced at Li Yan, and then both of them looked at Jiang Cheng suspiciously. "A gift??"

"Villas by Deer Lake aren't cheap. Who gave it to you?"

Seeing his parents' concern, Jiang Cheng explained, "It was a gift from the developer. Tianlong Real Estate has a project being blocked by a competitor, and they're looking for partners. I happened to go there to buy a house, and the CEO mentioned it to me. I saw great potential in the Eastern Outskirts project they're investing in, so I wanted to invest a bit. However, what he valued most was Dad's reputation, so technically, this house was actually a gift for you."

Jiang Jianming still had some doubts after hearing Jiang Cheng's explanation.

Although he didn't think Jiang Cheng would be foolish enough to make him use family connections for such a small thing.

But he still asked, "So, for one villa, I have to solve his competitor problem??"

Jiang Cheng immediately shook his head. "If that were the case, do you think I'd be greedy for such a small profit?"

Jiang Jianming nodded without saying more, a look of appreciation in his eyes as he signaled for him to continue.

"I'm collaborating with him. We agreed that I only invest and won't manage anything else. He's using your current momentum to solve the problem through his own channels. He hitches a ride on your influence, and I make a profit."

"That's fine then. I won't interfere in your business, but that villa is yours; I won't touch it."

"I understand, Dad. I won't do anything problematic."

After Jiang Cheng finished speaking, Jiang Jianming said with some pride, "You have a good eye, kid. As expected of my son. That area in the Eastern Outskirts is indeed good; there should be big developments there in the future."

Jiang Cheng asked, "You know about this news too? This should be insider information, right?"

Jiang Jianming's eyes flickered with a hint of awkwardness as he said, "Watching the evening news every day is somewhat useful. You should watch it too when you have time."

"Alright, stop chatting. Clear the table. I checked, and the delivery is almost here."

Seeing Li Yan giving orders, Jiang Jianming and Jiang Cheng immediately stood up. The father and son silently cleared the table, their movements practiced and synchronized.

Jiang Cheng glanced at Jiang Jianming and said, "Dad, when I came up just now, I saw that Uncle Tai's family hired another young maid. What do you think??"

"I don't dare to look!" Jiang Jianming replied immediately.

"Hahaha." Jiang Cheng laughed as he looked at Li Yan.

After they finished clearing the table, the delivery arrived.

A Haidilao employee arrived in uniform, carrying a Haidilao delivery box.

They didn't need to help at all. The Haidilao employee took out the pot, base, dipping sauces, and other items, skillfully preparing the hotpot for the customers.

After setting everything up, they even asked considerately, "Would you like to take any photos? I can pose for you."

After Jiang Cheng declined, the Haidilao employee spoke again, "This is our classic Haidilao set, including the soup base, meats, vegetables, tofu, vermicelli, and so on. We also have specially gifted snacks and drinks. There are also trash bags and aprons."

Finally, they took out a tablet.

They showed them the order record and discount information, and asked if they needed any additional dishes or drinks.

If needed, they could have someone deliver them again.

Although it wasn't Jiang Cheng's first time eating Haidilao, it was his first time having Haidilao delivery at home.

There was no doubt that Haidilao's service was indeed excellent... but as for the taste, it still couldn't compare to the local 'fly' hotpot shops in Chengdu.
