After finishing up with Su Wan, Jiang Cheng's phone began to ring.
Glancing at the unfamiliar number, Jiang Cheng answered as he walked toward the bathroom.
Jiang Cheng picked up the ringing phone.
"Boss, the operation in Tyrande is complete."
"Good."
"Pretty Country personnel have already started their search."
"Got it. Stand by for my orders."
Jiang Cheng hung up and fell into thought.
He checked the time: after ten at night.
Though Tyrande had finished the job, getting the man out was still a problem.
To keep things from unraveling, the best move was to finish tonight and extract him from Tyrande at once.
After weighing options, Jiang Cheng pulled up Shen Chong's number.
He dialed, switched to speaker, and turned on the shower.
The call connected quickly.
Shen Chong's respectful voice came at once: "Good evening, Young Master Jiang."
Jiang Cheng cut to the chase: "Shen Chong, I need a favor."
Shen Chong replied deferentially: "Please command me."
"I want to bring someone out of Tyrande. His status is sensitive—he's from Pretty Country."
Over the sound of rushing water, Shen Chong asked, "Young master, may I ask if it's a man or a woman?"
Black lines flashed across Jiang Cheng's forehead. "Old Shen, relax, it's legit. Male. He's a senior tech specialist from a Pretty Country chip firm. My people spotted him in Tyrande and want to invite him to China for technical exchange."
The statement carried a mountain of hidden implications.
The line went silent for three full seconds.
Knowing Jiang Cheng was talking nonsense with a straight face, Shen Chong dared not question.
Abroad, cutting-edge firms differ from domestic ones; many guard R&D secrets fiercely.
Senior engineers overseas often wield power equal to the boss and hold large shares.
Under such systems, secrecy is airtight.
After a pause, Shen Chong pressed, "You're planning to develop chips?"
Jiang Cheng nodded. "To be precise, lithography machines. From what I gather, he holds key technology for their development."
Shen Chong couldn't hide his surprise.
He asked for confirmation: "lithography machine—that's a real treasure. Understood…" He hesitated. "Where do you want him delivered? I'll send specialists at once."
"Out of Tyrande's port. Ship him to Kyoto first. When located, he had Pretty Country government watchers on him…"
Shen Chong answered, "I understand. I'll be extra careful. Once he's in China I'll give him a full body check so no one can ever find him."
Jiang Cheng added, "By the way, foreign friends crossing oceans to do R&D fits our talent-import policy. Get him a proper ID and household registration; from now on he's one of our top scientists."
Shen Chong nodded instantly. "As long as he's in China and contributes, he's one of us. I'll arrange everything impeccably, rest assured."
With instructions given, Jiang Cheng left the bathroom and switched off speaker.
Su Wan lay under the blanket, scrolling on her phone.
He sat down and slid a hand straight under the quilt.
At the silky touch, Su Wan's body quivered.
A shy blush rose on her face, eyes flashing with reproach and coyness.
She bit her lip hard, stifling any sound.
Jiang Cheng asked, "By the way, how's Second Grandpa's health usually?"
At the question the other end went silent for several seconds.
Shen Chong spoke awkwardly, "Young master, the second elder is still sturdy, but age tells; sometimes he's not as strong as before. The future of Mingsheng Group may rest on you."
"Isn't the company still under you? What use am I? Second Grandpa is old; have the medical team check him more often and report to me immediately."
The line fell quiet, then Shen Chong's low voice came, "Very well, young master, but…" He hesitated.
Jiang Cheng frowned and snapped, "But what? Spit it out!"
Shen Chong hesitated. "Yes… but you'll have to take over sooner or later. To be frank, the old master's will is already made, but he says you're still young and wants you to enjoy a few more carefree years. However…"
After a pause Shen Chong continued, "Whenever you wish, Mingsheng Group is yours."
His attitude convinced Jiang Cheng that Second Grandpa must know he has pancreatic cancer.
He just chose to keep it from his grandfather.
Though Second Grandpa had a healing card, Jiang Cheng still felt stifled until a full recovery was certain.
"Enough, we'll talk later. If anything urgent happens at the company, contact me anytime."
After hanging up, Jiang Cheng sighed in resignation.
Having too many family businesses was a pain.
Leaving aside his own Star Capital, even his father had offered to hand his company over.
His grandfather was still waiting for him and his dad to return, and now Second Grandpa had Mingsheng Group as well.
