Chapter 1468 - Be Right There

Seeing this, Bai Xiaoxiao calmly thanked him.

In truth, the defenses she'd clung to had already been blown apart by Jiang Cheng's generous tip.

Forcing herself to stay composed, Bai Xiaoxiao chatted with the Stream Viewers while sneaking an expectant glance at Jiang Cheng.

"Sea God, do you want me to play League?"

The scratch Yuan Jing had left on Bai Xiaoxiao's arm two days ago still hadn't fully healed.

Whenever she saw the mark, anger flared inside her.

Yet the 200,000 he'd just splashed across the screen instantly soothed that wound.

Two hundred thousand for one beating.

In that instant Bai Xiaoxiao decided her skin was thick enough to take the pain.

She even hinted she could handle a few more rounds.

So yes, grievances can be smoothed away by the power of cash.

Jiang Cheng's buddha jumps over the wall triggered another wave of tips.

"You never finished your driving lesson, Little Crispy; don't play favorites."

"I see it now—Little Crispy only has eyes for Great Sea God."

"Guess this chicken dinner is off the table again."

...Actually, Bai Xiaoxiao felt oddly shy about Jiang Cheng's question.

She could banter in front of her regular viewers without a care.

Jiang Cheng was different.

It felt like school: when your crush wasn't in the room you were loud and wild,

but the moment he walked through the door

your antics stopped mid-motion

and you tried to look perfect in front of him.

That was Bai Xiaoxiao right now.

Otherwise why had she clammed up both times they met outside?

They were already holding hands, yet talking like this still embarrassed her.

Seeing her blush, the barrage returned.

"Little Crispy, what's wrong? You were on a roll—why the red face?"

"Something's off with Little Crispy!"

"Told you she treats us differently. Heartbroken."

Reading the flood of comments, Bai Xiaoxiao had to explain again.

Her top viewers weren't as lavish as Jiang Cheng, but streaming was her job;

she still needed basic professionalism.

She steadied herself, pretending Jiang Cheng wasn't watching.

"If you didn't get it, your driving skills need work. Automatic: no hands, just line it up and go. Manual: use your hand, line it up, then slide in. Simple—how do you even drive?"

Hearing that, Jiang Cheng's lips curved into a tiny smirk.

When Zhou Zhiyun walked in, Jiang Cheng's grin widened at Bai Xiaoxiao's explanation.

He casually closed her stream.

Seeing Jiang Cheng leave,

the Stream Viewers teased again.

"Great Sea God bolted."

"Little Crispy drives so hard—who wants silver bracelets, right?"

"Is Little Crispy even legal? She looks like a kid but talks like a vet."

Jiang Cheng hadn't said a word, which made Bai Xiaoxiao nervous.

After a pause she grabbed her phone and texted him.

"Sir, wanna play a game?"

Instead of answering, Jiang Cheng sent a location pin.

Jiang Cheng: "Drinks and games?"

Seeing it, Bai Xiaoxiao's lips curled.

She typed quickly: "But I'm live now."

After sending, she stared at the screen, waiting.

Moments later his reply arrived: a single "Oh."

Staring at that word, she felt a pang of disappointment.

While her thoughts raced, Jiang Cheng had already closed WeChat.

Zhou Zhiyun trudged in looking defeated after his call.

Jiang Cheng asked, "Done talking with Xu Ya?"

At Xu Ya's name, Zhou Zhiyun's face darkened.

He stammered, "Sigh, I... Cheng, you don't get it, I really... uh..."

Watching him falter,

Jiang Cheng shook his head in exasperation.

"Drink first, talk later."

Just then another WeChat ping sounded.

Bai Xiaoxiao: "What does 'oh' mean?"

Without elaborating, Jiang Cheng replied,

"Means if you're busy I'll find someone else. Yuan Jing looks free—she should be available."

At Yuan Jing's name Bai Xiaoxiao lost all interest in streaming.

After their sushi-shop fallout, Bai Xiaoxiao had moved out of Yuan Jing's place;

they'd blacklisted each other on WeChat.

When Jiang Cheng had dropped 200k in her stream, she'd thought he was coaxing her,

but his reply told her she'd misread.

The tip was just their usual signal to hang out.

After days of silence, if she hadn't messaged, he might never have shown up.

She sighed, knowing Jiang Cheng would never sweet-talk her.

Frustrated, she dared not sulk;

if he really went to Yuan Jing,

Yuan Jing would flaunt it forever.

No—absolutely not!

Fury blazed;

she bit her lip

and hammered the fire button on her game,

spraying bullets into the downed guy's face.

After venting, she grabbed her phone and replied,

"I'm free—already on my way. Send the address. Be right there."
