Chapter 1471 - I Thought You Were a Driving Streamer

Seeing Jiang Cheng say this so seriously, a faint blush crept up Bai Xiaoxiao's normally composed face.

Zhong Chuxi, however, clearly believed Jiang Cheng.

She'd heard Zhou Ying mention that Jiang Cheng owned several companies, one of which seemed to manage Internet Celebrities.

And the moment Bai Xiaoxiao arrived, she'd obediently taken the seat beside Jiang Cheng.

To Zhong Chuxi, who'd graduated high school just six months ago,

concepts like the "casting couch" weren't something she'd looked into too deeply.

Zhong Chuxi asked innocently, "Really?? That's amazing! Can you teach me? I'm learning to drive right now and I've already failed Subject Two twice."

Hearing the question, Bai Xiaoxiao nearly choked on her own saliva.

She answered awkwardly, "Well… hands-on practice might be inconvenient, and it's kind of hard to explain in words…"

"Why not?" Zhong Chuxi batted her big eyes, puzzled.

Jiang Cheng fought back a smile as he watched Bai Xiaoxiao's flustered expression.

Under the table, Bai Xiaoxiao lightly tapped Jiang Cheng's thigh.

Forcing an awkward smile, she said, "Haha, nope. Chairman Jiang, don't joke. Actually, I'm a game Streamer; driving's just a hobby."

"Oh, a game Streamer, like a booster, right??"

"Mmm, something like that. When Mr. Jiang needs me, I queue with him."

"Wow, what games do you guys usually play?"

"Uh… I play everything, but with Mr. Jiang it's either pubg or League, since both have duo modes."

Listening to Bai Xiaoxiao's gaming résumé, Jiang Cheng could only think: this chick's a handful.

Pretty good at making things up.

They usually played honor of kings; when had they ever "gone at" those two games?

Still, after Bai Xiaoxiao's pitch, Jiang Cheng suddenly thought switching games sounded pretty appealing.

So appealing it made his… head a little itchy.

Yes, time for some play.

Don't get it wrong—this "head" isn't the one on top of your neck.

Jiang Cheng cleared his throat and slid the cocktail toward Bai Xiaoxiao. "Drink up~~"

Bai Xiaoxiao eyed the cocktail, gave Jiang Cheng a playful wink,

and secretly fluttered her lashes. "Mr. Jiang, you've got such a short memory. I'm your Designated Driver tonight; I can't drink. How am I supposed to drive you home later? And I'm a lightweight—if I get tipsy and can't get it in, that'd be bad."

Bai Xiaoxiao had one big plus Jiang Cheng had noticed last time:

when she asks you out, she won't play coy.

If they hadn't run into Qiu Yihe last time, the two of them would've gone way past "normal distance" by now.

Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao's hints getting bolder, Jiang Cheng raised a hand and asked the Waitress for two glasses of warm water.

"If you can't drink, hydrate with warm water. Winter air's dry, and after streaming so many hours your lips can crack."

At those words, Zhou Zhiyun—who knew why—suddenly sat bolt upright.

"What foreskin? Bullshit."

Seeing him ramble again, Zhong Chuxi slapped his arm. "God, wake up, will you?"

While Zhong Chuxi and Zhou Zhiyun were talking, Bai Xiaoxiao shifted a little closer to Jiang Cheng.

Sipping her water, she asked, "How do you know I stream so many hours a day? Been secretly watching me?"

Jiang Cheng stared at her for several seconds.

Under that handsome gaze, Bai Xiaoxiao's heartbeat sped out of control.

Her cheeks flushed like ripe apples.

Just when she thought her heart would leap out of her throat,

the corner of Jiang Cheng's mouth curved in a faint, almost-there smile.

He said softly, "I think you've got the wrong idea. I'm pushing fluids so you won't lag when we play pubg."

At that, Bai Xiaoxiao's face exploded crimson.

If Zhong Chuxi weren't here, she'd have climbed right onto Jiang Cheng to let him feel just how "laggy" she could be.

A dozen minutes later, Zhou Zhiyun, slumped over the table, twitched slightly.

He lifted his head, rubbed his groggy skull, and blinked.

When his vision cleared, he was stunned:

besides Zhong Chuxi, a cute Girl he'd never met sat across from him.

Zhou Zhiyun's eyes went wide, disbelief all over his face.

"Bro Cheng, am I hallucinating?" he muttered. "Isn't that Little Crispy?"

Hearing his own Streamer name, Bai Xiaoxiao's expression froze. "You… you've watched my stream?"

Meeting a real-life Internet Celebrity at such close range—and one this pretty—

Zhou Zhiyun was clearly nervous and self-conscious.

His cheeks reddened; he gave an embarrassed grin and struggled upright.

Grinning foolishly at Bai Xiaoxiao, he said, "I drop by sometimes. Your driving's hilarious."
