Chapter 1687 - Sounds Pretty Reliable

Zhou Ying gave her a glance.

She knew Zhong Chuxi was about to start again.

So she simply shook her head. "We're just average."

"Oh, come on, why won't you play along?"

While Zhou Ying and Zhong Chuxi fooled around, Yu Xiaoxiao and Su Wan on the other side were having a heart-to-heart.

Only after Jiang Cheng walked into the bathroom did Yu Xiaoxiao reluctantly pull her gaze back. Eyes smiling, she asked Su Wan, "Jiang Cheng really is amazing, right?"

The question sounded odd; Su Wan had to replay it twice in her head before she caught the meaning.

Biting her lip, she cooed, "Sister Xiaoxiao, you… "

Seeing Su Wan's expression soften, Yu Xiaoxiao tugged her toward the sofa.

She kept teasing: "Am I wrong? Jiang Cheng is plenty strong—he can handle both of us."

Though shy, Su Wan clearly agreed.

Such words were hard to say out loud.

Still, cheeks flushed, she answered, "In that regard Jiang Cheng really is… fine. But Sister Xiaoxiao, doesn't it feel weird to you?"

Yu Xiaoxiao smiled. She felt uneasy too, yet mostly thrilled—though she couldn't admit that to Su Wan.

Instead she masked it by patting Su Wan's hand. "Wanwan, tell me—why did you choose to be with Jiang Cheng when you already knew there were other women?"

At the mention of this, Su Wan's eyes turned distant.

"Before I met Jiang Cheng I faced either breach-of-contract penalties or being shelved. He spent a hundred million to crush Lin Ru for me, even paid my penalty fee. Without Jiang Cheng there'd be no present-day me."

"After what just happened, do you regret giving yourself to him?"

Su Wan shook her head. "Giving myself to Jiang Cheng means giving myself to one man. If I'd yielded to someone else, there'd have been no end of people to please."

Glad that Su Wan still remembered where she'd come from, Yu Xiaoxiao smiled with approval.

"That's the right mindset. From what I know of this industry, no other man has treated us as well as Jiang Cheng. So for me—'to wear the crown, bear its weight.' As long as it makes him happy, I'll go along with whatever he wants."

On this point Su Wan clearly agreed with Yu Xiaoxiao.

From Yu Xiaoxiao's behavior just now, it was obvious this was her first time; she hadn't played such games with Jiang Cheng before.

Though visibly shy and awkward, she had adjusted her mentality at once and was even here comforting Su Wan on Jiang Cheng's behalf.

Su Wan looked at her and asked softly, "Jiang Cheng treats us well, but Sister Xiaoxiao, aren't you afraid that one day… "

She didn't finish, yet Yu Xiaoxiao understood.

She gave a relieved laugh. "Wanwan, you mean with so many women around him, he might one day cast us aside?"

Su Wan offered no reply.

To her it seemed inevitable; the brutal lessons of countless entertainment-industry seniors were plain to see.

Most who never married had been like her—overestimating themselves when young. Eventually the men reached an age where they settled down, leaving these aging confidantes to spend their later years lost in memory.

It wasn't that the women wanted everything.

Once you've had the best, it's hard to settle for less.

Su Wan couldn't deny that Jiang Cheng gave her peak experiences—especially after watching Yu Xiaoxiao and then taking her own turn, the thrill had doubled.

Had they not been at the company with Yu Xiaoxiao still in the bathroom, she might have cried out loud.

So it wasn't a matter of willingness; she simply feared that if she sank this deep this young and Jiang Cheng eventually abandoned her,

would any other man ever make her feel the same?

Probably not.

She'd heard that some retired actresses in Japan, who had filmed too much in their youth, struggled to feel satisfied after returning to family life.

After all, filming involved not only various props but also plenty of cameramen on set.

Because of the cameras you couldn't fully immerse yourself,

yet the presence of strangers doubled the excitement.

That was exactly what Su Wan worried about now.

She lowered her head, hesitated several times, then whispered, "I won't cling to Jiang Cheng. If one day he truly doesn't want me anymore, I'll leave with dignity—he's already given me more than enough."

"I know exactly what you're thinking. Don't worry—as long as we don't betray him, stay obedient and make no trouble, Jiang Cheng won't abandon us," Yu Xiaoxiao replied.

"Sister Xiaoxiao, I can't be as confident as you."

In Su Wan's eyes Jiang Cheng naturally favored Yu Xiaoxiao over her;

he tacitly treated Yu Xiaoxiao as senior and herself as junior.

Yu Xiaoxiao reached out to tuck a strand of Su Wan's hair behind her ear.

"Silly girl, if you lack confidence, just give Jiang Cheng a plump baby in a couple of years—then you'll stay by his side forever."

The moment she said it, Su Wan's mouth fell slightly open.

She… had never thought of that method.

And it sounded… pretty reliable.
