Chapter 1701 - You Quite Know How to Eat.

Hearing this, Xu Yan's face instantly turned bright red.

After a startled cry, she hurriedly turned her head away, her hands flusteredly reaching out to rub the corners of her eyes.

Seeing her hands constantly wiping her face, Jiang Cheng could no longer hold back his laughter.

With a "pfft," he said, "I was just kidding."

After he said this, Xu Yan finally blew up.

Her voice suddenly jumped an octave: "Jiang Cheng!!! What on earth do you want by waking me up!!"

Looking at her flustered appearance, Jiang Cheng just wanted to reach into the screen and smooth her fur.

But his mouth still replied mischievously, "I'm calling you to wake up and pee!"

Jiang Cheng had teased Qiu Yihe with these words before.

Now, seeing Xu Yan's reaction, he still found it very hilarious.

Seeing Jiang Cheng laugh, Xu Yan got even angrier. Her voice rose a few more notches as she screamed, "Ah!!! Believe it or not, I'll come over right now and bite you!!"

"Tell me where you're going to bite first? If the location is right, I'll give you the address!"

Late at night, Xu Yan understood the ambiguity in Jiang Cheng's words in a second.

She wanted to say she'd bite that naughty mouth of his, but she didn't dare.

However, being woken up and teased by Jiang Cheng in the middle of the night, the anger in her heart was truly hard to bear.

Finally, Xu Yan decided to respond to Jiang Cheng, so she said crossly, "I'll bite your head!"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, which head?"

"Hiss! If you keep being naughty, I'm hanging up..." She shook her unthreatening little fist at the screen.

Seeing that he had teased her enough, Jiang Cheng also braked in time: "Chu Ran is busy tomorrow. You accompany me for breakfast."

Both angry and helpless, Xu Yan frowned and asked, "You've come to Jingdu?"

Jiang Cheng nodded and replied as if it were a matter of course, "Otherwise?"

"So I'm your breakfast substitute?"

"You can't put it that way. The choice Chu Ran gave me was to find you or Shen Shuang, and I chose to find you."

Hearing this, a trace of imperceptible joy surged in Xu Yan's heart for some reason.

Forcing down the joy in her heart, her mouth remained unforgiving. She rolled her eyes and grumbled, "Oh, so it's my honor then?"

Seeing Xu Yan's duplicitous look, Jiang Cheng couldn't help but laugh out loud. "That's pretty much what it means." After saying that, he raised an eyebrow and went straight to the point, "What are you taking me to eat tomorrow?"

Xu Yan deliberately paused and didn't take the bait. Instead, she said with a bit of pride, "We'll see tomorrow. I'm not even fully awake yet."

Without waiting for Jiang Cheng to speak again, she quickly pressed the hang-up button, and the screen went dark instantly.

After putting down her phone, Xu Yan found that she was no longer sleepy at all.

Lying in bed, staring at the pitch-black ceiling, her mind kept replaying the conversation she just had with Jiang Cheng. The warmth of holding the phone still lingered on her fingertips, and the corners of her mouth curled up uncontrollably.

The more she smiled, the more she couldn't stop. Finally, she simply curled into a ball hugging her pillow, not even understanding where this sudden happiness came from.

Just a second ago, she was still angry at him for waking her up in the middle of the night.

On Jiang Cheng's side, he couldn't help but smile after hanging up the phone.

The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, Jingdu's Qingming Festival season carried a bit of a sharp chill, and the wind was wrapped in the faint fragrance of the Old Locust Trees budding.

At seven in the morning, Xu Yan's video call to Jiang Cheng rang punctually.

This time, it was Jiang Cheng's turn to be a bit dazed.

The moment the call connected, Xu Yan deliberately lowered her voice, imitating Jiang Cheng's tone from last night: "Jiang Cheng, time to wake up and pee. Don't hold it in too long~"

Jiang Cheng was obviously not fully awake yet, his hair slightly messy. Hearing this, he was stunned for a moment, then laughed helplessly, "Oh, you've learned to use my own tricks against me?"

"Likewise. If you don't get up soon, breakfast will be sold out."

Jiang Cheng rubbed his eyes and sat up. "So enthusiastic? It seems you've already thought of what to take me to eat."

"I haven't," Xu Yan said stubbornly, but her eyes couldn't help but crinkle. "Hurry up and get ready to go out. Where should I wait for you?"

Jiang Cheng's voice was full of smiles. "Just wait for me at your school gate. I'll drive over."

After hanging up the phone, Xu Yan also began to pick out her clothes.

In Jingdu around Qingming Festival, the wind still carried a lingering chill. It felt refreshing on the face, not cold enough to make one shrink their neck, but one still had to wrap up in a thin coat to be comfortable.

The Magnolias by the roadside had just half-bloomed. White and pink buds were dotted on the bare branches, and the morning light spilled on the petals, revealing a soft warmth.

The Old Locust Tree at the school gate had sprouted new leaves. The tender green leaves were stained with morning dew, swaying in the wind. Occasionally, two damp petals would float down and land on the bags of passing students.

Half an hour later, a bugatti nights sound with clean lines slowly pulled up to the side of the road.

The black car body shimmered with a low-key luster in the morning light, making several passing students unable to help but look back.

Jiang Cheng rolled down the window and tilted his chin at Xu Yan, who was standing under the tree: "Get in."

She pulled open the car door and sat inside. The warmth, wrapped in a faint scent of Cedar, rushed at her, instantly dispelling the chill on her body.

"Thought of what to take me to eat?" Jiang Cheng looked ahead, his fingers lightly tapping the steering wheel, his tone carrying a bit of expectation.

Xu Yan turned her head to look at the street scenery passing by the window and deliberately drawled, "What else can we eat? Soy Milk, Fried Dough Sticks, and two Tea Eggs. It'll fill you up."

After rolling her eyes at Jiang Cheng, Xu Yan puffed out her cheeks and said on purpose, "Soy Milk, Fried Dough Sticks, and a Tea Egg. How about that?"

Knowing that Xu Yan was teasing him on purpose, Jiang Cheng rubbed his chin and asked, "Do you usually like this breakfast trio?"

Not yet sensing the trap in Jiang Cheng's words, Xu Yan pretended to nod solemnly, "I do. This is my favorite."

"Oh! I couldn't tell... Girl, you quite know how to eat, don't you?"

She had originally thought Jiang Cheng would complain when he heard about this conventional breakfast.

Unexpectedly, not only did Jiang Cheng not complain, but he even looked at her with a teasing expression.

Based on her understanding of Jiang Cheng, she felt something was a bit strange... After a few seconds, she realized and couldn't help but reach out to swat Jiang Cheng. "You childish brat... always bullying me..."
