Liora Voss hit the brakes once again, turning her head to fix Elias Kane with an unblinking stare, as if trying to see whether this guy had any sense of shame at all.
Clearly, he didn't. Elias didn't show a hint of embarrassment. Instead, he raised an eyebrow at her. "What? You wanna fuck me? Already tired of your women?"
Liora's grip on the steering wheel tightened hard. Her words came out slow, almost one by one. "If you keep acting like that, I'll throw you out of the car."
Elias muttered carelessly, "I thought you were taking me to the hospital for a fever shot… Hey, hey, hey!"
Seeing Liora reach a hand toward him, Elias quickly shrank away to the far side, then made a zipping motion across his lips to show he'd stay quiet.
Only then did Liora pull her hand back. She noticed that her palm had somehow broken out in a sweat, leaving it slightly sticky.
Without a word, she wiped it on her clothes, gripped the wheel again, and restarted the car.
