Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: The Desire to Learn Alchemy

Lin Yaoyao walked to Bai Li's side and said with a light smile, "Yes, this place houses various books accumulated by the Lin Family over generations, ranging from Cultivation Techniques to strange occurrences; it has everything." She reached out and took a thick ancient book from the bookshelf, flipped through a few pages, and pointed at the text, saying, "These are the crystallizations of the wisdom of our Lin Family ancestors. Take a look and see if there is anything you need."

"Mhm!" Bai Li nodded vigorously, her eyes filled with determination. She walked over to Lin Yaoyao's side and flipped through the books on the shelves with her, searching for information related to Alchemy.

The two of them searched carefully in the Scripture Pavilion. The bookshelves were filled with a dazzling array of books, making Bai Li feel dazzled. From time to time, she would stop, pick up a book she was interested in, flip through a few pages, and then put it back to continue her search. Lin Yaoyao, on the other hand, was more purposeful; she quickly browsed the labels on the bookshelves according to the classification of the books, looking for those related to Alchemy.

Time passed minute by minute. The Scripture Pavilion was so quiet that only the sound of the two flipping through books and occasional low-voiced exchanges could be heard. Sunlight filtered through the windows, casting moving spots of light on the floor as if recording the passage of time. Finally, on a bookshelf in a corner, Lin Yaoyao discovered several ancient books and Pill Formulas related to Alchemy. These books looked somewhat old, with yellowed pages and damaged corners, but the writing on them was clearly visible, exuding an ancient and mysterious aura.

"Bai Li, come quickly and look!" Lin Yaoyao waved at Bai Li with a hint of excitement in her voice.

Hearing Lin Yaoyao's call, Bai Li quickly ran over. Seeing the ancient books and Pill Formulas in Lin Yaoyao's hands, her eyes lit up, and she excitedly picked up a Pill Formula to read. The Pill Formula recorded the refining methods for various Medicinal Pills, from the ratio of medicinal herbs to the control of the heat, all written in great detail, and there were even some Alchemy techniques and insights. Bai Li read with great interest, as if she were already immersed in the world of Alchemy.

Bai Li carefully put away these precious ancient books and Pill Formulas into her Storage Pouch, afraid of damaging them. She looked up at Lin Yaoyao and said gratefully, "Thank you, Sister Yaoyao!" Her silver eyes sparkled, filled with a desire to learn Alchemy.

Seeing Bai Li's excited look, Lin Yaoyao smiled and said, "No need for thanks, as long as you like it." She paused and suggested, "Let's go to the Pill Refining Room now. I'll introduce you to the Elder of the Pill Refining Room."

"Okay!" Bai Li replied gleefully, her furry fox ears twitching and her tail wagging excitedly behind her. She took Lin Yaoyao's hand, eager to see the Lin Family's Pill Refining Room. Seeing Bai Li's excitement, the corners of Lin Yaoyao's mouth curled up slightly, her eyes filled with doting. She held Bai Li's small hand in return and led her out of the Scripture Pavilion.

The Lin Family's Pill Refining Room was located in a secluded valley in the Back Mountains of the Lin Family. Surrounded by Spiritual Qi and a peaceful environment, it was very suitable for Alchemy. The two passed through a bamboo forest and arrived in front of a simple and elegant building. A plaque hung above the entrance with the three large gilded characters "Pill Refining Room" written on it. The brushstrokes were vigorous and powerful, exuding an ancient aura.

Lin Yaoyao led Bai Li to the entrance of the Pill Refining Room and lightly knocked on the door. "Thump, thump, thump," the knocking echoed in the silent valley.

"Please come in," an old and deep voice came from inside the room.

Lin Yaoyao pushed open the door and led Bai Li inside. Inside the Pill Refining Room, an old man with white hair and a white beard was sitting cross-legged on a prayer mat, resting with his eyes closed. He wore a plain Daoist robe, looking like an immortal, and a faint fragrance of medicine emanated from him. Various alchemy furnaces and medicinal herbs were placed in the room, and the air was filled with a thick medicinal fragrance that made one feel refreshed upon smelling it.

"Elder, sorry to disturb you," Lin Yaoyao said with a respectful bow, her tone gentle and polite.
