Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: She's as Cute as a Doll

This is my first time writing, so some parts might not be well-written. I hope everyone won't mind. I will work hard in the future; this book is just to test the waters.

The Academic Affairs Office of Tianxing Academy was an ancient building with blue bricks, green tiles, and intricately carved beams and painted rafters. A plaque hung at the entrance, with the words "Academic Affairs Office" written in three large gilded characters. Inside, several teachers were busy handling various matters; some were registering student enrollment information, some were distributing academy uniforms and dormitory keys, and others were answering questions from students and parents. Everyone was organized and meticulous. A faint scent of ink and paper permeated the air, evoking a sense of tranquility and solemnity.

Lin Yaoyao, Shen Mo, and Bai Li arrived at the Academic Affairs Office, where a young female teacher warmly greeted them. "May I ask what the three of you need?" She had a smile on her Face and a gentle tone, making them feel as if they were bathed in a spring breeze.

"Hello, Teacher. We're here to complete the enrollment procedures," Lin Yaoyao said, handing her identification to the teacher.

The female teacher took Lin Yaoyao's identification, carefully checked the information, and after confirming it was correct, said with a smile, "Student Lin Yaoyao, welcome back to the academy." She returned the identification to Lin Yaoyao and then looked at Bai Li. "And this is?"

"She is my distant relative, Bai Li," Lin Yaoyao introduced. "She wants to study at the academy, but for certain reasons, she doesn't have identification. I would like to request that the academy make an exception and admit her." Lin Yaoyao explained that Bai Li had grown up in the deep mountains, isolated from the world, and thus had no identification. She hoped the academy could consider Bai Li's special circumstances and make an exception.

After listening to Lin Yaoyao's explanation, the female teacher pondered for a moment and then said, "Student Lin, the academy's rules are set in stone; one cannot enroll without identification." Her tone carried a hint of apology. "However, considering you are the Eldest Miss of the Lin Family, I can ask the Dean for you and see if an exception can be made."

Lin Yaoyao said gratefully, "Then I'll have to trouble you, Teacher." She took a bag of Spirit Stones from her Storage Pouch and handed it to the teacher. "This is a small token of my appreciation; please accept it." Lin Yaoyao knew that in the Cultivation World, Spirit Stones were the common currency and the lubricant for social interactions. Giving the teacher some Spirit Stones was both to express her gratitude and to ensure she would do her best to help.

Seeing the Spirit Stones Lin Yaoyao handed over, the female teacher quickly declined, "How could I accept this? Student Lin, you're being too polite." Although she said this, her hands did not refuse. She accepted the Spirit Stones and then said with a smile, "Student Lin, don't worry, I will do my best to advocate for you." Her tone carried a note of assurance; since Lin Yaoyao had given quite a few Spirit Stones, she naturally had to help as much as possible.

The female teacher took Lin Yaoyao's identification and the Spirit Stones and walked into the Dean's office. The Dean was a white-haired old man with a profound Cultivation Base and high prestige; he was one of the academy's founders and its highest leader. After hearing the teacher's report, he contemplated for a moment and then said, "Since she is a relative of the Eldest Miss of the Lin Family, then let's make an exception and admit her." His tone carried a hint of majesty that brooked no argument. The Lin Family was a prestigious clan in the Cultivation World, and Lin Yaoyao was the most beloved daughter of the Head of the Lin Family, so the Dean naturally had to give the Lin Family Face.

The female teacher quickly nodded in agreement and then, with the Dean's approval, returned to the Academic Affairs Office. She handed the academy uniforms and dormitory keys to Lin Yaoyao and completed the enrollment procedures for Bai Li. "Student Lin, these are the academy uniforms and dormitory keys. Please keep them safe," she said with a smile. "Student Bai Li's enrollment procedures are complete. She has been assigned to the D-Block Dormitory Building, Room 34."

Lin Yaoyao took the uniforms and keys and said gratefully, "Thank you, Teacher." The weight in her heart finally lifted; Bai Li's enrollment issue was finally resolved.

Lin Yaoyao collected three sets of academy uniforms and dormitory keys—one for Bai Li, and the other two for herself and Shen Mo. The academy's rule was to change into new uniforms every semester. Shen Mo took the uniform Lin Yaoyao handed her and smiled helplessly. "The academy's rules really haven't changed at all." She tucked the uniform away into her Storage Pouch.

The three left the Academic Affairs Office and headed toward the dormitory building. Along the way, Bai Li curiously observed her surroundings, filled with novelty at everything in the academy. Within the academy, the buildings were ancient and elegant, the Spiritual Qi was dense, and the environment was beautiful. Various rare flowers, exotic herbs, precious birds, and strange beasts could be seen everywhere, as if they were in an Immortal Realm. Looking at everything around her, Bai Li's eyes were filled with curiosity and excitement.

The three of them entered the dormitory building. Following the numbers on the dormitory keys, they found Room 34. The dormitory was a spacious and bright four-person room. Inside, four beds were neatly arranged in the four corners, each covered with clean and tidy bedding. In the center of the room stood a table and four chairs, with some books and stationery placed on the table. In a corner of the room stood a wardrobe with several clean garments hanging inside. The windows were large, and sunlight poured through them, illuminating the entire room. A faint fragrance permeated the air, making it feel warm and comfortable. At the moment, the room was empty, presumably because the other roommates had not yet arrived.

Looking at the clean and tidy dormitory, Bai Li's heart was filled with joy. She put away her luggage and then impatiently changed into the academy uniform. The academy uniform was a standardized white robe with golden patterns embroidered on the collar and cuffs; the style was simple and generous, yet elegant and noble. Bai Li looked at herself in the mirror—fair skin, a small body, silver eyes, long white hair, and the blue-and-white robe made her look like a cute little doll, refined and strikingly beautiful. She couldn't help but spin around, her white robe fluttering gently with her movements like a fairy, a sight of incomparable beauty.

Lin Yaoyao and Shen Mo also changed into their academy uniforms. Lin Yaoyao walked over to Bai Li, looked at her transformed appearance, and said with a smile, "Bai Li, you look so cute in the academy uniform." Her tone carried a hint of admiration. Bai Li's petite and exquisite appearance amazed her; she knew that once Bai Li wore this uniform, she would surely attract many gazes in the academy.

Shen Mo also walked over to Bai Li, looked her up and down, and said with a smile, "Yes, Bai Li, you look so good in this uniform, just like a little fairy stepped out of a painting." She reached out to help Bai Li straighten her collar, her eyes filled with affection. Bai Li was a bit embarrassed by the praise, her small Face turning slightly red like a ripe red apple that one couldn't help but want to take a bite of.

"Thank you, Sister Yaoyao, Sister Shen Mo." Bai Li gave a sweet smile, her silver eyes curving into crescents. She was full of anticipation for life at the academy and excited to be able to study and Cultivate together with Lin Yaoyao and Shen Mo.

"Alright, let's go eat at the canteen." Lin Yaoyao glanced out the window; the sunlight was just right and the breeze was mild—a perfect time to go out for a meal. "Afterward, we also need to go to the Scripture Pavilion to select Cultivation Techniques and books," she added. During the first week of the term, the academy's schedule was relatively relaxed, mainly to let students familiarize themselves with the environment and choose suitable Cultivation Techniques and books based on their own circumstances.

The three of them left the dormitory and walked along the tree-lined path toward the academy canteen. Along the way, they encountered many students, all wearing the same white academy uniforms, gathered in groups of three or five, discussing interesting stories from the holidays and plans for the new semester. Their Faces were brimming with youthful smiles, full of vigor and vitality. The Spiritual Qi in the academy was dense, the environment was beautiful, and various rare flowers, exotic herbs, precious birds, and strange beasts could be seen everywhere, making one feel as if they were in an Immortal Realm. Bai Li curiously observed everything around her, her heart filled with wonder and amazement at the academy's environment.

The academy canteen was an ancient-style building with flying eaves, bracket sets, carved beams, and painted rafters, looking magnificent. People were coming and going at the canteen entrance, making it bustling and lively. The air was filled with the aroma of various foods, making one's mouth water. The interior was spacious, bright, clean, and tidy, with dozens of dining tables, each set with exquisite tableware and delicious dishes. Students queued up in an orderly fashion to get their food, then sat down at the tables, enjoying their meals while chatting with friends in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

Lin Yaoyao, Shen Mo, and Bai Li sat down at an empty dining table. Lin Yaoyao took a pot of spirit tea and some pastries from her Storage Pouch and placed them on the table. "Bai Li, have some pastries first to tide you over; I'll go get the food," she said softly. Bai Li was young and in her growing years, so Lin Yaoyao was worried she might get hungry and had specially prepared some pastries for her.

Bai Li nodded. "Thank you, Sister Yaoyao." She picked up a pastry and took a gentle bite. The pastry melted in her mouth, sweet and delicious, causing her to narrow her eyes and show a satisfied smile. Meanwhile, Shen Mo took an ancient book from her Storage Pouch and began to flip through it. She enjoyed reading various ancient texts to gain knowledge and experience, enhancing her Cultivation Base and insights.

Lin Yaoyao went to the food service window. Behind the window, several chefs were busy preparing various delicacies. Their movements were skilled and their techniques exquisite; every dish was perfect in color, aroma, and taste, making one's mouth water. Lin Yaoyao ordered several dishes that Bai Li liked and then carried the tray back to the table.

"Bai Li, try this." Lin Yaoyao placed a plate of fragrant roast meat in front of Bai Li and said with a smile.

Bai Li's eyes lit up at the roast meat in front of her. She picked up her chopsticks, took a piece of meat, and put it in her mouth. The meat was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a mouth-watering aroma that made her praise it incessantly. "Delicious!" While eating the roast meat, she gave a thumbs-up and praised Lin Yaoyao.

Seeing Bai Li eating with such relish, Lin Yaoyao felt a sense of satisfaction. Shen Mo also put down her ancient book and joined them in the meal. The three of them enjoyed the delicious food while chatting about academy life and their plans for Cultivate.

"Yaoyao, what Cultivation Technique do you plan to choose?" Shen Mo asked. She knew Lin Yaoyao was very talented in cultivation and was curious about her plans.

Lin Yaoyao put down her chopsticks, thought seriously for a moment, and then said, "I plan to choose the Tian Xing Sword Art. This sword technique is the treasure of Tianxing Academy, powerful and very suitable for me." Her tone was firm, and her eyes were full of confidence. The Tian Xing Sword Art was the treasure of Tianxing Academy, a set of sword techniques created by the academy's founder based on the movements of the stars. It was powerful and unpredictable, a Cultivation Technique that all Sword Cultivators dreamed of. Lin Yaoyao had been interested in swordsmanship since she was a child, and she believed she could definitely Cultivate the Tian Xing Sword Art to its peak.

Shen Mo nodded in agreement. The Tian Xing Sword Art was indeed very suitable for Lin Yaoyao; with her talent and hard work, she would surely be able to Cultivate it to its peak. "I plan to continue practicing the Phantom Step. This movement technique is light and agile, unpredictable, and complements my sword techniques, allowing me to be more flexible and versatile in battle," Shen Mo said. The Phantom Step was a high-level movement technique that was extremely difficult to Cultivate, but Shen Mo was exceptionally talented and, combined with her Acquired hard work, had already mastered it to a high degree.

Bai Li blinked her silver eyes, looked at Lin Yaoyao and Shen Mo, and asked curiously, "Then what should Bai Li choose?" She didn't know much about Cultivation Techniques and books, nor did she know which one would suit her. She turned to look at Lin Yaoyao, her eyes full of reliance and trust.

Lin Yaoyao touched Bai Li's head and said softly, "Bai Li, you are very interested in Alchemy. When we go to the Scripture Pavilion this afternoon, you can pick out some related books to look at." Her tone was gentle and her eyes were full of encouragement. "The academy's Scripture Pavilion houses a vast collection of books and Cultivation Techniques. You can take your time to choose and find a Cultivation Technique that suits you." Lin Yaoyao knew Bai Li's special identity and didn't want her to come into contact with advanced techniques too early to avoid unnecessary trouble. She hoped Bai Li could proceed step-by-step, build a solid foundation, and steadily improve her strength.

Bai Li nodded. "Good, I'll listen to Sister Yaoyao." Her tone was obedient, full of reliance and trust in Lin Yaoyao.

After lunch, the three of them arrived at the Scripture Pavilion. The Scripture Pavilion was an ancient and elegant building with blue bricks, green tiles, and intricately carved beams and painted rafters. A plaque hung at the entrance, with the words "Scripture Pavilion" written in three large gilded characters. At the entrance of the Scripture Pavilion, two elderly men sat upright. They were white-haired and had kind Faces, with a faint scholarly Aura emanating from them. They were responsible for guarding the Scripture Pavilion, maintaining order, and preventing anyone from damaging the books and Cultivation Techniques.
