Amid a sea of boos.
Soon, the game began.
"Jump ball!"
The tip-off between Blake Su and Bogut felt like enemies meeting face to face, with tension running high.
Both men leaped at the same time. Blake Su pushed his natural athleticism to the limit, rising a full hand higher than Bogut and swatting the ball away with sheer dominance.
"Wow!"
"That insane leaping ability!"
"Bogut, did you not eat today? Is that all you've got?!"
"A No. 1 pick with no vertical. What a joke!"
The home crowd, already unhappy, showered Bogut with boos and insults from the very start, constantly chipping away at his composure.
Bogut let out a cold snort and ignored them.
Nash brought the ball up the court, then handed it off to Blake Su at the top of the key. Bogut stood right in front of him, but after the painful lesson from last time, he immediately dropped back into the paint, leaving Ilyasova to step up and defend Blake Su.
Blake Su swung the ball to Curry, who was cutting into space on the left. At the same time, Blake Su cut toward the right wing. Using Nash's screen, he drove straight toward the basket and pointed a finger to the sky.
Curry instantly understood. While cutting, he tossed the ball high toward the rim. Bogut, drawn by Curry's movement, had just turned his head toward the ball.
Boom!
Blake Su rose up for the alley-oop and hammered it down right over Bogut's head.
The game opened with a Su-Curry connection, and it came as an alley-oop dunk over Bogut. The home arena exploded with energy.
"F**k!"
Bogut, having just been dunked on, cursed under his breath and shot a hostile glare at Blake Su as he ran back.
"I won't mess with you, but if you mess with me, don't blame me for going hard."
On the next possession.
Jennings drove in, stopped abruptly, and knocked down a mid-range jumper.
Nash brought the ball back up, attacking while looking for Curry's off-ball movement. The two worked together, while on the other side Carter set a screen for Blake Su, who was also moving without the ball.
Curry settled into the left low post, Blake Su into the right low post. Nash cut through the middle, then shifted sideways and passed to Curry.
Curry caught it and immediately fired a behind-the-back bounce pass.
The ball slipped cleanly through the paint to Blake Su on the right block. At that moment, Bogut's attention was once again on Curry.
By the time he realized what was happening.
Blake Su had already cut along the baseline, taken off, and soared into the air.
Boom!
Another powerful dunk, right over Bogut.
The impact sent Bogut stumbling backward several steps. He nearly lost his footing, his body swaying as he struggled to stay upright.
He looked completely embarrassed.
The home crowd, however, was loving every second of it. They wanted nothing more than to see Blake Su dunk him into the ground.
And so, on the next possession.
Blake Su used an in-and-out crossover, burst forward, and blew past Ilyasova in a single step, charging straight into the paint again.
This time, he went directly at Bogut.
He planted his foot just inside the free-throw line and exploded upward.
Bogut, already frustrated after being shut down before, had his eyes locked on Blake Su. The moment Blake Su jumped, he leaped as well to contest.
But the gap in their explosiveness was too large. They rose at nearly the same time, yet Blake Su's arm was already above his head.
Boom!
Another crushing dunk over Bogut.
Blake Su grabbed the rim, steadying himself against the force.
Bogut, on the other hand, was knocked backward and slammed hard onto the floor. His face twisted in pain as he struggled.
Blake Su landed smoothly, looking down at him with cold indifference. He stared for a few seconds, then turned and walked away.
He said nothing.
But sometimes, silence is far more humiliating than words.
Bogut had been humiliated by a rookie, ignored, and drowned in boos from the crowd. His mentality completely collapsed. He had already forgotten how badly Blake Su had dominated him before.
At this moment, he only wanted one thing. To block Blake Su, or better yet, to dunk on him in return. He needed to regain his pride.
But Blake Su, a truly dominant center, was not someone he could stop just because he wanted to.
So the game continued.
At 6:13.
Blake Su attacked from the right high post, powered past Ilyasova, and drove along the baseline. He took off for a layup, and Bogut lunged at him aggressively.
But Blake Su hung in the air, gliding past, then adjusted midair and slammed it home with a reverse two-hand dunk.
The rim shook violently from the force.
Once again, Blake Su dunked right over Bogut.
At 4:13.
Curry drove to the basket under pressure and missed the layup. A scramble broke out under the rim, and in the chaos, Bogut tipped the ball away.
Blake Su caught it near the free-throw line.
He took one step inside and immediately launched himself into the air, throwing down yet another dunk over Bogut, who stood there stunned.
"Wow!"
"That's already the fifth dunk Blake Su has made over Bogut in this first quarter. What is he doing?!"
At the commentary table.
Van Gundy's face showed clear shock as he exclaimed, "You don't often see Blake Su attack this aggressively. This is just as entertaining as his smooth and unstoppable three-point shooting."
Mike Breen nodded.
"I think Blake Su keeps going at Bogut because of what Bogut said about him earlier. Being targeted by a rookie like this, Bogut might be in for a very long night."
"Look!"
Van Gundy suddenly shouted.
"Curry with the steal. He pushes it ahead to Blake Su on the fast break.
Bogut is waiting near the free-throw line.
Blake Su goes straight at him. Both players jump.
Boom!
Blake Su rises high and slams it down again right over Bogut's contest.
That makes six dunks by Blake Su over Bogut in just the first quarter. This is brutal."
"The Suns' final possession of the quarter goes to Blake Su at the top of the key. Curry and Nash clear out to one side, leaving Blake Su one-on-one with Ilyasova.
He lets the clock run down.
A quick crossover, and he blows right past Ilyasova. Blake Su drives into the paint, where Bogut and Moute are waiting.
Blake Su goes up against both defenders, rising incredibly high.
Boom!
He powers through both of them and throws down another near-buzzer dunk.
Oh my God. That makes seven dunks in a single quarter, and every single one came against Bogut's defense.
In other words.
Blake Su dunked on Bogut seven times in one quarter!"
As Van Gundy's voice rang out with excitement, the arena erupted in thunderous cheers the moment Blake Su completed the dunk over both Bogut and Moute.
"$**! %¥@*()…!"
Amid the deafening cheers, Bogut, having been dunked on seven times in a single quarter, completely lost control and roared in frustration.
