Chapter 239 - Chapter 239: 720-Degree Spin + Windmill

The first dunk of the first round was over.

Blake Su led for the moment with 50 points, Griffin was right behind him with 49, DeRozan sat in third with 46, and Ibaka was temporarily in last place with 45.

Next came Blake Su's second dunk.

The score for this dunk would largely decide whether he could make it into the finals.

"It's Blake Su's turn again. After scoring a perfect dunk just now, what kind of surprise will he bring us this time? He's starting with the ball from the left arc again.

He accelerates!

Blake Su charges to the basket, plants, and takes off. It's another 180 degree spin in the air. What is he adding this time? No... Blake Su is spinning 720 degrees in the air.

Bang!

A one handed slam!"

Van Gundy's eyes went wide. His commentary sped up sharply, and Blake Su's 720 degree midair spin into a one handed dunk left him staring with his mouth open.

"Tsk, tsk..."

Mike Breen could not help clicking his tongue in admiration. "A 720 degree spin in the air. That is seriously difficult. The key is that Blake Su jumped so high, which made this dunk look even more spectacular.

It was incredibly fun to watch."

"Wow!"

In the stands, the fans all had their mouths open wide enough to fit a light bulb, each of them stunned.

"Damn!"

"That dunk was sick!"

Steve Nash and Carter were clapping excitedly as well.

Curry even fell backward in an exaggerated motion. Luckily, George caught him, or with the way he looked... he really might have passed out from shock.

How many points?!

Amid the shock, everyone was waiting for the score.

"Swish, swish, swish!"

The judges, completely enjoying Blake Su's dunk show, held nothing back and all gave him perfect 10s, allowing Blake Su to score another perfect 50.

With that, Blake Su had two perfect dunks for a total of 100 points. In other words... Blake Su was guaranteed to enter the finals, and he would enter as the top seed.

"Yeah!"

"Blake Su is definitely in the finals!"

Curry, George, and the rest of the Suns players cheering for Blake Su were all overjoyed, while the fans were just as fired up, roaring with excitement.

On the court, the contest continued.

Aside from Blake Su, there was only one finals spot left. Although Griffin had the scoring advantage, there were still too many variables, and all three remaining players still had a chance to advance.

First was DeRozan.

"Thud!"

After the ball bounced up off the floor, DeRozan rose into the air, caught it with one hand, flew past the rim, and finished with a reverse dunk.

This dunk had difficulty and looked good, drawing a wave of gasps from the fans. In the end, it won the judges over and earned a perfect 50.

Of course, in terms of overall value, Blake Su's 720 degree spin was still superior.

Next came Ibaka's second dunk.

After thinking it over for a moment, he took a running start, jumped, and first bit down the small stuffed animal attached to the rim in midair.

Then he threw down a one handed slam.

This dunk did have some creativity, but... the difficulty was not especially high. Overall, he was awarded 47 points.

With both of them finished in the first round, DeRozan had a total of 96 points, while Ibaka had 92. That meant no matter what score Griffin received, Ibaka was already eliminated.

Griffin was the last to appear. He went straight into a 450 degree spin plus windmill dunk, a move even more difficult than Blake Su's first dunk.

In the end, after four full attempts, Griffin finally completed the stunning dunk.

Although it took him four tries, the dunk was truly spectacular. After a brief discussion, the judges still gave it their approval.

"Swish, swish, swish!"

One by one, they raised 10 point cards, giving Griffin 50 points.

So after completing two dunks, Griffin advanced to the finals with an outstanding 99 points, second only to Blake Su and ahead of DeRozan's 96.

Just as expected, the finals came down to the "Monster Rookie" Blake Su against the "White Beast" Griffin.

After a 15 minute break, the final showdown between the two arrived. Before it had even begun... the fans already knew this was going to be a visual feast.

With his perfect score, Blake Su did not need to draw lots and had the advantage of going last in the final round. Griffin took the court first for his third dunk.

Once on the floor, Griffin ran through the move in his mind.

"Whoosh!"

He burst forward, racing toward the basket. At the free throw line, he tossed the ball into the air. The ball hit the backboard and bounced up, and Griffin flew into the air, catching it with one hand.

Then.

"Boom!"

He slammed it down with half his arm hanging through the rim, his entire body stretched out in midair.

"Wow! Griffin pushed the aesthetics of power to the absolute limit with that dunk."

Van Gundy could not stop praising it. Mike Breen also said excitedly, "Exactly. That dunk was pure power, and... it was a tribute to Carter's old one arm hang on the rim dunk."

"Yes."

Van Gundy nodded again and again.

"Boom!"

Cheers erupted throughout the arena. The "Heat Big Three," the "Thunder's Big Three," and many other stars were all stunned by that dunk.

However, before everyone had even recovered from the shock.

"Boom!"

Blake Su threw down a violent one handed slam with a 720 degree spin plus a windmill, instantly detonating the entire arena once again.

"Unbelievable!"

Van Gundy was completely dumbfounded as he roared, "A 720 degree spin, and he can still add a windmill? Blake Su... just how insane is his vertical leap?"

"My God!"

"Griffin's 450 degree spin plus windmill just now was already extremely difficult, but Blake Su actually raised the difficulty again on top of that.

And the key is, he nailed it on the first try.

This is truly unbelievable. That dunk was absolutely ridiculous!"

Mike Breen looked exhilarated, so excited that he could barely get the words out.

In the stands, Steve Nash laughed and said, "Vince, Blake Su is paying tribute to your spin windmill too."

"That's right."

Carter smiled and nodded, then exclaimed, "Back then, I only did a 360 degree spin plus a windmill. Blake Su just did a windmill after two full rotations in the air.

That is way too difficult!

And he completed it on his very first attempt. That's incredible!"

"Whoa!"

The cheers in the arena thundered even louder.

"Wow, so this is what a finals dunk showdown looks like. This is another battle between monsters!"

"Whoa... these dunks are getting my blood pumping."

"I can't wait for their final dunks. I think... the whole arena is going to explode!"
