Chapter 244 - Chapter 244: Showtime! “Formless Shot” (2)

"Wow!"

"What kind of miracle shot was that? How did he make it?!"

Inside the broadcast studio.

Mike Breen was fired up, while Van Gundy shook his head in amazement. "Incredible. That was basically a formless shot. That attempt from Blake Su was ridiculously difficult."

If anyone else took that shot, you'd call it completely unreasonable.

But there's nothing you can say. Blake Su's touch is just too soft. When it's him, he can make it work. That kind of shot becomes reasonable."

"You..."

Mike Breen listened to Van Gundy praising Blake Su and shook his head with a smile.

On the court.

"You little punk, you really don't play by the rules."

LeBron gave Blake Su a light slap and laughed. Blake Su smiled as well and said, "It's the All-Star Game. It's only fun if we make it entertaining."

"That's true."

LeBron nodded, but then something suddenly struck him. Wait, Blake Su is clearly a rookie. This is his first All-Star Game. So why does he feel so polished?

It almost feels like... he's teaching me how to do this?!

"This kid really doesn't seem like a rookie."

LeBron glanced at Blake Su again and shook his head with a laugh.

The game continued.

Everyone thought Blake Su's last shot had been completely unstructured, that he had only made it because of luck.

What they did not know was... that was Blake Su's [Formless Shot], empowered by [Daiki Aomine]'s talent and abilities. It was the kind of shot that could go in even when it made no sense.

And.

It had only just begun.

10:03.

Blake Su attacked the basket from the left wing and went up for a layup. Facing Howard's block, he dodged in midair while absorbing contact, and as his body lost balance...

He flipped up a reverse scoop off the glass from the right side of the rim.

"Swish!"

Good.

9:13.

Blake Su held the ball at the top of the arc, facing Stoudemire. He broke right, accelerated in one step, then took off, twisting his body as he drifted sideways and sent the ball flying.

It was a completely Formless Shot. Stoudemire did not even try to defend it.

But.

"Swish!"

It went in again.

It was only worth two points, but the instant that wild Formless Shot dropped, the arena erupted into another wave of cheers.

Those cheers had not even died down.

On the next possession.

It was Blake Su again. Facing the defense of LeBron and Wade, the two close friends in front of him, he turned sideways and went behind his back, sending the ball straight through Wade's legs.

"Whoosh!"

Blake Su slipped through the tiny gap between the two of them, caught the ball in stride, and took three steps into a layup.

"Boom!"

A one handed hanging slam once again detonated the entire arena.

"That works too?!"

"He got through that?!"

Wade and LeBron looked at each other, completely stunned by Blake Su's wildly unconventional attack.

"Tsk, tsk..."

Howard watched it all, shocked inside. If a guard had pulled off that extreme back-to-the-basket, between-the-legs change of direction, maybe that would still make sense.

But now.

The player doing it was a center, a 215 centimeter center.

Howard had just been beaten not long ago by Blake Su's alley oop three-point buzzer beater. Now he was watching Blake Su dribble with flair and fire off formless attacks all over the court.

It left him feeling awful.

They were both centers. Even if Howard's dominance inside was stronger than Blake Su's, in this moment... after hearing all those cheers for Blake Su.

For some reason, he felt kind of lame.

And then... an unbelievable scene followed. Howard took the ball, dribbled it across half court himself, and faced Blake Su.

"Bang, bang, bang!"

He tried to shake him with a crossover.

Blake Su cooperated and let himself get shaken off balance. Unfortunately, Howard's ball-handling was still a little lacking. After completing the crossover, he failed to gather the ball.

"Whoosh!"

The basketball flew straight out of bounds.

"Hahaha!"

That scene immediately made the fans burst into laughter.

And then.

Blake Su kept showing off. With Daiki Aomine's [Speed and Agility] empowering him, he moved with dazzling speed, weaving through the defense like a butterfly through flowers, cleanly and stylishly beating Stoudemire.

"Swish!"

Layup good.

"Oooh!"

That ball-handling ability, standing in sharp contrast to Howard's, once again left the fans staring with their mouths open. They could only marvel at the flashy handles this center, Blake Su, possessed.

"Damn."

Howard curled his lips, looking helpless.

6:33.

Blake Su once again received a pass from Paul, cutting from the free throw line toward the basket. Howard rushed up, blocked his path, and even reached out to go for a steal.

"Whoosh!"

Seeing it, Blake Su went behind his back to switch hands while shifting his body left at the same time, breaking away from Howard in an instant. Then he grabbed the ball with his left hand and jumped off one foot.

He turned in midair.

"Boom!"

And finished with a dunk.

"Aaah! Blake Su's graceful movement, that behind-the-back hand switch into a hop step, followed by a spinning dunk in the air, was way too smooth, way too flashy!"

Mike Breen shouted with abandon.

"Oh, man!"

Van Gundy was completely fired up too, shouting, "That dunk from Blake Su was definitely a show, and... if I remember correctly, Kobe once completed this exact dunk!"

On the court.

How could Kobe, the man himself, not know?

"Well, damn."

Kobe looked at Blake Su and smiled. "You just finished copying Jordan, and now you're copying me? Has this All-Star Game turned into your personal showcase?

Are you trying to steal everyone's spotlight as a rookie?"

That was what he said.

But in truth, seeing Blake Su hit one magical Formless Shot after another put Kobe in a pretty good mood. After all, this was the All-Star Game.

This was exactly the place to have some fun.

"Hahaha!"

On the bench.

Tim Duncan chuckled blankly. "Even though this is his first time on the All-Star stage, Blake Su doesn't look nervous at all."

"He's more than not nervous."

Parker shook his head with a smile. "I think he's treating the All-Star Game stage like his regular practice court and just playing around out there.

Look at those shots. None of them are normal, but they're all going in. With this kind of hot hand, he might steal everyone's spotlight tonight."

"Hey."

Ginobili widened his eyes and shouted, "Am I the only one who thinks Blake Su's formless attacks don't look like luck?"

Instead...

They look like the ultimate expression of Blake Su's personal talent."

"Haha!"

Beside him.

"The German Tank" Nowitzki shook his head and laughed. "There's definitely luck involved, especially that first shot with his back to the basket. You could basically call that a blind toss.

There was no technique to speak of.

But... Blake Su wanted to entertain, and he really did get lucky enough to make it. That immediately maxed out the entertainment value, so it's pretty interesting."

"That's right."

Deron nodded and smiled. "Dirk makes sense. Blake Su really is a rookie who dares to play around and show off. He's full of confidence."

"Is... is that so?"

Hearing everyone say that, Ginobili felt a little confused.

"Boom!"

There were not many people thinking about it as seriously as Ginobili. As Blake Su kept putting on one impossible, formless offensive move after another, the atmosphere in the arena rapidly heated up.

At the same time.

Across the ocean.

Inside a rest room in an old town in Beijing, Mia Quinn, who had accepted a small role and was taking a break between filming scenes, was watching the All-Star Game on TV.

Watching Blake Su's All-Star show.
