"What's the good news?"
Nash asked with a smile.
Seeing how happy George looked, he figured it had to be something good.
"Phew..."
George jogged over, caught his breath lightly, and said with a grin, "Last month's Player of the Month, Rookie of the Month, monthly Rookie MVP ladder, and monthly MVP ladder have all been updated.
Everyone.
Guess who got picked?"
Curry raised his hand confidently. Goran Dragić and Frye also raised their hands, signaling that they wanted to guess too.
"Stephen, you go!"
George pointed at Curry. Curry rubbed his chin, pretending to think it over. After a moment, he said, "Wild guess, Blake Su. And not just one award either. He swept all four."
"Correct!"
George waved his hand and confirmed Curry's answer.
"Haha!"
Carter shook his head and laughed. "Wild guess? Isn't that obvious?"
"Exactly," Nash added softly.
"Smack!"
Curry grinned and slapped hands with George, then shook his head with a smug little wobble, looking as if he did not care what anyone said. It was still a wild guess, and... he had guessed perfectly.
George looked excited as he said, "Blake Su has won Player of the Month again. Including this one, he's now won Player of the Month three months in a row.
And he's doing it as a rookie.
He beat out a whole group of superstars, including 'Black Mamba' Kobe, 'King James' LeBron, and 'Superman' Howard, to keep this honor.
He's ridiculously strong.
As for Rookie of the Month, there's no doubt about that either. Since Blake Su won Player of the Month as a rookie, of course Rookie of the Month went to him too. That's also three straight months.
On top of that, Blake Su is still firmly holding the top spot on the monthly Rookie MVP ladder. And on the monthly MVP ladder, it's the same. He's sitting at No. 1 there too.
If he keeps this up, this year's regular-season MVP will almost certainly be Blake Su!"
"Hiss..."
When Goran Dragić heard that, the corner of his mouth twitched hard.
A player crushing countless superstars across the league and winning regular-season MVP in his rookie year.
Just hearing it sounded insane.
And now Blake Su had a very real chance of doing it. That completely stunned Goran Dragić. Thinking about himself, another rookie, the gap between him and Blake Su was simply too huge.
But in the next moment, that shock turned into admiration for Blake Su. He even silently vowed to take Blake Su as a role model, to keep moving forward, keep getting stronger, and keep improving himself.
"Blake Su is awesome!"
"Baby-Faced Assassin" Curry led the shout, and the practice gym immediately filled with cheers and applause.
At the same time, discussion online had also exploded.
However... just as fans were caught up in heated debate, the NBA's official website announced the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week for the previous week. In the East, the honor went to "Melo" Anthony.
He had won Player of the Week in his very first week after joining the Knicks. The Knicks right now truly could not be underestimated.
As for the West, the award once again went to Blake Su, the "Monster Rookie" who had now won Player of the Week five weeks in a row.
However, when fans saw that Blake Su averaged 31.8 points, 9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 2.3 steals, and 2.8 blocks last week, while the Thunder's Kevin Durant averaged 35.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.1 steals, and 2.3 blocks, they could not help feeling confused.
"Hey, Blake and Kevin both led their teams to 4-0 records last week, and Durant's numbers even look better than Blake Su's.
So why did Western Conference Player of the Week go to Blake Su again?"
"Right."
"I don't really get that either!"
The fans were full of confusion and doubt.
However... while everyone was still thinking it over, a sharp-eyed fan stepped forward and commented, "Idiots, you're all ignoring something very important.
Playing time.
Sure, Durant was better than Blake Su in scoring, but don't forget that the Suns' four wins last week were all blowouts by the end of the third quarter.
In other words, Blake Su only played three quarters in every game, averaging just 30.4 minutes, while Durant averaged 38.9 minutes.
That's a full eight minutes less per game.
And Blake Su still put up numbers almost on par with Durant's. That tells you how much better Blake Su's efficiency was. Giving him Player of the Week was completely reasonable."
"Wow!"
After that explanation, everyone suddenly understood.
Blake Su's astonishing efficiency shocked the fans even more. One by one, their mouths hung open wide enough to fit an egg.
Blake Su was terrifyingly strong.
At the same time, another fan realized something even more explosive and commented, "Hey, do you guys know? The Suns have now won 19 straight again.
Last month... they went undefeated for the entire month!
That means this season, the Suns have already gone undefeated for two separate months. The only team with that kind of ability was the 1972 Lakers, the team that won 33 straight.
And now, Blake Su, a rookie, has led his team to that achievement. Honestly, I don't even know how to describe this 'super rookie' whose strength is off the charts."
"Whoa!"
Those words shocked the fans once again.
However... the stronger Blake Su became, the more the fans looked forward to tomorrow night's blockbuster showdown between the Knicks and the Suns.
"On one side, you have the Suns with 'Monster Rookie' and 'the league's No. 1 center' Blake Su. On the other side, you have the unstoppable Knicks, who formed a Big Three and took down strong teams like the Bulls and Celtics in succession.
When these two teams collide, it's definitely going to be incredible."
"Hey, hey, hey. I don't know why, but this Knicks-Suns matchup is giving me Finals vibes. This is a real clash between Eastern and Western powerhouses."
"Haha."
"Exactly!"
"Uh... is the person above indirectly saying the Suns can make it out of the Western Conference Finals this year?"
"No, he just thinks the Knicks are really strong!"
"Heh, I don't care. Since you said it feels like the Finals, then there's no doubt about it. My Suns are definitely the strongest team in the West!"
"Hey, are you a Suns fan? One of us? Don't say random stuff like that. You're going to get us hated."
"Whatever the case, the Knicks-Suns game is definitely going to be exciting!"
"Hey, not necessarily. Whether it's actually exciting, and whether it really feels like the Finals, still depends on how the Knicks play tonight."
"What do you mean?"
"Wow! You didn't know? Tonight, the Knicks are on the road against the Heat. The Knicks' new Big Three versus the Heat's Big Three.
If the Knicks win, then I think their game against the Suns, who have won 19 straight, will absolutely explode. It'll be a true god-tier showdown."
"Exactly!"
"I can't wait!"
It was not just the fans. The entire league was watching this grand matchup.
