Chapter 270 - ‘Chapter 270: Blake Su, the League’s Best Player

Hearing that, Kamla said, "Since Blake Su joined the Suns, they've only lost three games in total, against the Kings, the Thunder, and the Clippers.

"They were upset by the Kings. Then Blake Su rested, and they lost to the Thunder. After that, Curry, Nash, Carter, and several other key players all rested together, and they lost to the Clippers.

"But even with those three losses, no fan would think the Suns would lose a playoff series to any of those teams.

"Now, let's talk about the real contenders.

"So far this season, teams like the Lakers, Spurs, Thunder, and Mavericks in the West, and the Bulls, Magic, Celtics, and the newly formed Big Three Knicks in the East have all fallen to the Suns.

"I'm not saying all of those strong teams are definitely weaker than Phoenix, but at the very least, based on what we've seen this season, the Suns have beaten all of them in one way or another.

"In other words, none of those teams has truly beaten the Suns.

"The Suns have basically gone through nearly every powerhouse in the league. But there is still one team left that might be the last real hope.

"And who is that?

"The Miami Heat."

Kamla and Charles Barkley gave the answer almost at the same time. Barkley picked it up from there and said, "That's right. The Heat, with the Big Three of LeBron, Wade, and Bosh.

"They are the team most likely to beat the Suns right now."

"Agreed."

Reggie Miller gave a fair assessment as well. "Eastern and Western Conference teams only play each other twice in a season. Early in the year, the Heat and Suns met once.

"In that game, the Heat crushed the Suns through three quarters.

"But it's worth pointing out that when that game was played, Blake Su was not on the Suns yet, and Curry had not arrived either. So that matchup doesn't really count as the Suns losing at full strength.

"That means the next meeting will be the first true showdown between these two teams.

"On one side, you have the Miami Heat, who built the league's strongest Big Three this summer to hunt for a championship. They're like the movie villain walking straight onto the court.

"On the other side, you have the Phoenix Suns, the ultimate dark horse, led by 'Monster Rookie' Blake Su, who dropped into the league out of nowhere and has already carried them to two 20-game winning streaks this season.

"That matchup feels like a Finals preview. It's absolutely going to set the league on fire.

"And since these two teams have not truly faced each other yet, the Heat, with their Big Three, are the team most likely to truly beat the Suns."

"That's right."

Clyde Drexler nodded in agreement, then asked, "The Heat really do look like the big villains in a movie, and they're certainly the team with the best chance to beat the Suns.

"But when exactly is the final regular-season meeting between the Heat and Suns?"

"Ahem."

Kamla cleared his throat and said, "I just checked. Over the next stretch, the Suns' opponents are the Jazz, Timberwolves, Spurs, Kings, Lakers, Thunder, Mavericks, Warriors, Hornets, and then the Heat.

"So that means the Suns' tenth opponent from now will be the ultimate showdown with Miami."

"Wow."

Reggie Miller laughed in surprise. "Ten games, huh? That's really not far away. Honestly, I'm already looking forward to that one."

"Of course."

The "Round Mound of Rebound," Charles Barkley, rubbed his shiny dark head and said, "If Knicks versus Suns was a fake Finals preview, then the upcoming Suns versus Heat matchup can absolutely be considered a real Finals preview."

"Exactly!"

After a full round of heated discussion, the four commentators came to the same conclusion. The team most likely to truly beat the Suns was the Miami Heat.

As soon as the roundtable ended, it caused a huge stir online.

After watching the Suns beat so many strong teams in a row, including the Lakers, Spurs, Bulls, and Magic, many fans felt that the Heat, who had not yet truly faced them, had a strong chance to knock Phoenix down.

"No matter how strong 'Monster Rookie' Blake Su is, there's no way he can beat the 'Heat Big Three.' The Heat are the strongest team in the league!"

"They haven't played yet, but come on. No matter how you look at it, a Heat team with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh has to be stronger!"

"That's the Heat we're talking about. They're like the final villains in a movie. Their whole purpose is to take over the league and win the championship!

"No team can beat them.

"Don't be fooled by the fact that they're only second in the East right now. Once the playoffs start, once it becomes a stage for superstars, you'll understand just how terrifying the 'Heat Big Three' really are."

"It's annoying to admit, and the way the Heat were built really does rub people the wrong way, but you can't deny it. The Heat are ridiculously strong right now."

"Yeah, it's so frustrating. Is there no superhero who can stand up and take down the 'Heat Big Three,' those movie-villain monsters?"

"Don't ask. The answer is the Suns!"

"That's right. Blake Su will definitely turn into that superhero, defeat the 'Heat Big Three,' and show the entire league that Blake Su isn't just the 'best center in the league.' He's the 'best player in the league!'"

"Best player in the league? You're dreaming."

"Even if you don't call Kobe the 'best player alive,' then after Kobe, the closest one has to be 'King James' LeBron. As for Blake Su, he still has a long way to go."

"Don't underestimate Blake Su!"

"And don't look down on 'King James' LeBron, who carried a team to the Finals by himself!"

"Hmph!"

"Hmph!"

For a while, the fans argued nonstop.

But whether it was TNT's roundtable or the heated debates among fans, all of it was already building hype for the Suns versus Heat showdown.

That battle, which felt like a Finals preview, had started heating up even though the Suns still had ten games to play before it arrived.

But that was for the fans and media to worry about.

For the Suns, even though they absolutely took the Heat matchup seriously, their focus remained on the games in front of them.

...

The next day.

At 9 p.m., the entire Suns team arrived in Salt Lake City for their road game against the Jazz.

In the locker room, Alvin Gentry stood among the players and said seriously, "Guys, you're doing great right now. We've already won 20 straight games again.

"With an 80.4 percent winning percentage, we're firmly first in the West and first in the league.

"I'm sure all of you have heard the outside noise about our upcoming game against the Heat. We definitely need to take that matchup seriously.

"Winning that game would give us a lot of confidence.

"But before that, we still have nine opponents to face, and some of them are strong teams. So don't worry about the Heat right now. Focus on the team in front of us.

"Right now, we have a short-term goal.

"Push this streak to 24 games and break our franchise record of 23 straight wins!"
