"Yoona, where should we go for lunch?"
After the two finished washing up,
Blake Su smiled and asked while holding his already growling stomach.
"I already picked a place!"
Yoona raised her pretty brows with a proud look and said, "Let's go to Kai at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass. The food there is really good."
"Really?"
"Of course."
"Then... let's go~"
The two drove over.
On the way, Yoona introduced the place to him. "Kai at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass is the only AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five-Star restaurant around here.
It's very high-end.
They also have a lot of Native American dishes. They're all unique and really delicious."
"Heh."
Blake Su held the steering wheel with one hand and smiled. "Yoona, how do you know this place better than I do?"
"Hehe~"
Yoona looked pleased with herself. "I promised to treat you to a good meal, so of course I came prepared.
Besides,
you're only here to play basketball. The court is your home turf, but that doesn't mean the food here is your home turf too."
"Uh..."
Blake Su blinked, turned his head slightly, and nodded at Yoona. "That actually makes sense."
"Right? And also..."
The two chatted and laughed along the way. About an hour later, they finally arrived at their destination.
They sat down in a distinctive room filled with the soft, hazy sound of flute music. Following the staff's recommendations, they ordered quite a few house specialties,
such as rabbit with Pima wheat berries, lamb with tepary beans, and beef covered in a delicious corn sauce.
Many of the ingredients here came from nearby farms and were very fresh.
Of course,
excellent food was not the only reason this five-star restaurant was considered one of the best restaurants in Phoenix.
While enjoying the meal, they could also appreciate watercolor paintings by tribal artists, listen to flute music, and hear the staff share tribal stories.
Being able to enjoy good food while immersing themselves in Native American culture
was honestly wonderful.
After spending a full two hours there, the two left Kai at the Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass satisfied.
In the afternoon,
since Yoona still had a schedule the day after tomorrow and had to leave early the next morning, Blake Su took her to East Camelback.
They spent the afternoon eating and strolling through Phoenix's busiest commercial district.
At night,
the two also found some distinctive local food to try. Whether it was Yoona or Blake Su, neither of them was short on money now.
Save when it was time to save.
But when it was time to enjoy themselves, there was no need to worry about money. They could do whatever felt good and whatever made them happy.
Coming back from 3-0,
pulling off an epic comeback, completing a random System task, and receiving ["The Glove" Gary Payton's defense],
Blake Su was the biggest winner of the first-round series.
Relaxing like this after the game was only natural.
The two happily played around until past ten at night. Then Blake Su drove her to the area near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
They checked into the Phoenix Airport Marriott Hotel, only four kilometers from the airport.
"Yoona, let's go. The standard room is ready. We're on the 15th floor."
After booking the room at the front desk, Blake Su came to the lobby to call Yoona upstairs.
"A standard room? A single room would be enough."
Yoona said.
"What about me? Or are you planning to sleep in the same bed as me?"
Blake Su raised his brows, then gave her a mischievous smile. "I get what you mean."
As he spoke,
he pretended he was about to go change the standard room into a big suite.
Yoona had thought the room was only for herself.
Now that she realized what he meant, her fair little face turned slightly red, and she quickly grabbed Blake Su to explain, "No, no. What I meant was... I can stay by myself. You don't need to stay with me."
"No way. I won't feel right leaving you alone in a place you don't know. Not everyone you run into is trustworthy, you know..."
Blake Su kept talking on his own.
He had never intended to change the room anyway, and without waiting for Yoona to explain further, he naturally took her small hand and walked toward the elevators.
"Uh... I... didn't..."
Yoona mumbled behind him, then said nothing more. She let him hold her hand, while warmth quietly spread through her heart.
They entered the elevator.
The elevator rose.
The elevator stopped.
"We're here."
"Oh, today was really fun. Eating and drinking like this is my favorite, but... normally, I can't just eat whatever I want."
"Why not?"
Blake Su thought to himself that a celebrity of her level was certainly not short on money.
"Because I have to manage my figure. If I gain even a little weight, I'll lose fans, and I mean a lot of them."
"So that's why. It's fine to indulge once in a while."
As they spoke,
the two arrived at the door. However... when they held the key card to the sensor, it did not work. The door would not open at all.
"Why won't it open?"
Yoona was confused. "Did we get the wrong key card?"
"Probably not."
Blake Su shook his head. The staff usually would not make such a basic mistake. Then he looked up, and everything suddenly made sense.
"Hehe~"
Blake Su shook his head and laughed. "Yoona, we got off on the wrong floor. This is the 11th floor."
"Huh?!"
Yoona froze, then instinctively looked up too. After that, she gave an embarrassed laugh. "Someone must have pressed 11 on the way and then left. We didn't notice and thought we'd arrived."
"Yeah."
Blake Su nodded and instinctively lowered his voice, laughing softly. "Good thing it's a sensor door. Otherwise, if we'd startled the people inside, they might think we were thieves."
"Hehe."
Yoona covered her mouth and giggled, lowering her voice right away as well. She tugged Blake Su along. "We were too careless. Let's go, let's go. It's so late. If someone opens the door, we'll be so embarrassed."
They reached the elevator.
Looking at the elevator that had gone all the way up to the top floor, Blake Su said, "Yoona, the elevator is at the top floor now. We'll have to wait for it to come down, then go back up before we can take it.
So,
why don't we take the stairs? It's only four floors."
"Sure."
Yoona happily agreed.
And so... Yoona walked in front, while Blake Su carried Yoona's suitcase behind her. In the dimly lit stairwell, the two climbed upward one floor at a time.
"Yoona."
"Hmm?"
"Let me tell you a story."
"Okay."
"Emily was an office worker. One night, she worked overtime until ten before going home. When she was about to take the elevator, she found out it was under maintenance.
So she had no choice but to take the stairs.
She lived on the 15th floor. Because she was a little tired, and because she had twisted her ankle earlier that day, climbing the stairs was difficult. So she called her mother and asked her to come down and help her.
Soon,
her mother came down, supported Emily, and the two of them went upstairs together.
When they reached the eighth floor, Emily's phone rang. She answered it and heard the voice on the other end say, 'Emily, Mom is already downstairs. Where are you?'
After hearing that, Emily's pupils suddenly shrank. She stopped climbing, slowly turned her head, and looked over."
Yoona froze.
Then, half-confused and half-dizzy, she said, "Emily's mom is holding her right now, but her real mom just called. Then the person holding Emily, the one who looks exactly like her mom, is...?!"
As Yoona spoke, she seemed to realize it and turned to look back.
At that moment,
Blake Su suddenly lunged forward and grabbed Yoona's arm.
"Ah~~~"
