The palace was cold after Crown Prince Rain's decision to take a new husband. The king had begun preparations almost immediately, as if the decision had long been on standby.
Meanwhile, despite the glorious decoration, invitation distribution, and glamorous whispers of the upcoming event, which had been scheduled just two days away in fear of Rain changing his mind, the palace remained cold.
Prince Rhett left Marcus's wing but did not return immediately to his own. His steps were stiff, then halted as he reached Rain's wing. He watched from the corner as servants carried the crippled enigma's belongings to the new wing provided by the king.
"Do you think the Crown Prince is serious?" Hazel asked by his side.
Rhett sighed deeply. "Does it matter?" he whispered. "Either way, one has to be powerful to rule this kingdom, and right now, he lacks that."
