As the banners came into view, everyone awaited with anticipation. The royal family didn't stand on their balconies; they moved to the gates. Even the king walked out of his comfort zone to welcome them.
Five cars came into view, more than they had expected. According to the reports, the princess and her servants, and then maybe an elder or two, but five cars in total meant they came in their own number.
The decorated gates withheld their entrance, and before they could even be close enough, the gates were wide open, awaiting their presence. Marcus glanced over his shoulder, and still there was no sign of Rain. His lips pressed, and his eyes squinted with satisfaction. Even if the excuse was sickness, it would already be a bad image, and he was ready to soil it even before Prince Rain could justify his absence.
