"What are you doing?" Eve's voice came out small and frightened and something else....something she didn't want to acknowledge.
Dimitri didn't answer.
Just finished unbuckling his belt and let it drop to the floor. The sound it made hitting the hardwood seemed impossibly loud.
Then he bent down, picked her up by the waist, and stood her on the bed.....making her taller, making the positioning different. Making it impossible for her to reach the door.
"Dimitri, no...." Eve started, but he was already moving.
His hand went to her blouse....the silk one she'd worn to the office, and in one sharp motion, he ripped it open. Buttons scattered across the white bedspread like snow.
"You can't keep me here," Eve said, tears starting to stream down her face. Tears of anger and betrayal and something else she couldn't name. "You can't do this. Let me go. Please, let me go. I don't want...."
