"I understand," Dimitri said.
"And Dimitri...." Antonio paused. "Don't underestimate Dante. He's ruthless and he's desperate now. That makes him dangerous."
"I don't underestimate anyone," Dimitri said, and hung up.
He set down the phone and looked at Marco.
"Your father knows," Marco said. It wasn't a question.
"Yes," Dimitri confirmed. "And he's not happy. But he'll accept it. Because deep down, he understands that what I did was exactly what he would have done in my position."
"Is that going to be a problem?" Marco asked.
"Not yet," Dimitri said. "But eventually, yes. my father is going to want to have a conversation about power and control and my place in the family structure. That conversation isn't going to go well for him."

Upstairs, Eve woke to find the bed empty.
