By day 18, Dante was off the crutches.
Not completely functional. Still moving slowly, still favoring his good leg, still limited in what he could do. But mobile in a way that felt like freedom compared to the immobility of the past two weeks.
"I need to see the intelligence reports," Dante said, settling into a chair in the operations room.
Luca hesitated. "You're not ready for operational planning. You need more recovery time."
"I've had enough recovery time," Dante said flatly. "I need to know what we're doing. I need to understand the scope of what we're planning. And I need to start making decisions."
Luca studied him for a long moment. Then, seeing the absolute resolve in Dante's expression, he nodded.
"Alright. I'll bring you everything we have on the penthouse security, Eve's routine, and the extraction plans."
