Isabella arrived looking terrified.
Her hair was disheveled. Her clothes were wrinkled. Her eyes were wide with the understanding that something catastrophic had happened.
"What's happening?" she asked immediately. "Luca said we're evacuating. He said something about Dimitri. What happened?"
"They extracted her," Dante said flatly.
Isabella's face went completely pale.
"Eve," she whispered.
"Eve," Dante confirmed.
Isabella moved to the chair and sat down heavily, her entire body sagging under the weight of understanding.
"He knows," Isabella said quietly. "Dimitri. He knows I was involved."
It wasn't a question. It was a statement of fact.
"Certainly," Dante said.
Isabella's hands were shaking.
