Kael perceived through his Horizon Authority that this was exactly what was occurring. Consciousness had received understanding from external sources – the revelation of the Tenth Star, the integration of impermanence as fundamental truth. Now consciousness was beginning the work of making that external understanding its own through the process of questioning and engagement and eventual synthesis into something new.
"Is this a sign of failure?" Kael asked, though he already knew the answer. "Are we losing influence over how consciousness understands itself?"
