She looked around the garden, and for the first time, she saw what had always been hidden beneath its surface. Silver pathways stretched everywhere, weaving between the flowers, the trees, the very air itself. Some glowed brightly, vivid and unmistakable. Others remained hidden beneath layers of mist, faint enough that she might have missed them entirely if she weren't looking so closely.
"There are three kinds," she said, pointing gently toward the brightest of the pathways.
"These were forgotten naturally." Her hand moved toward another direction, where the light flickered weakly beneath a heavier fog. "These were hidden intentionally."
Then, almost against her will, she looked beneath the academy, toward a place she couldn't have named before that moment. Her expression changed, the color draining slightly from her face.
"And these..." Her voice became barely audible, dropping to something close to a breath. "They were deliberately falsified."
