Chapter 3: Until the End of the Universe
The drive back to the Fernandez mansion was filled with a "comfortable" silence—the kind that speaks louder than words. He held my hand the entire way, his grip firm as if he never wanted to let go.
When we reached the gate, I moved to get out, but he caught my wrist. "Goodbye kiss?"
I sighed, leaning in to give him a quick peck.
"That's not fair!" he complained like a pouting child.
"Everything is fair in love and war, Watson!" I called out, stepping out of the car.
"I'll get my revenge!" he yelled back, shaking his head with a grin.
I sneaked into the house, trying to be a ninja because it was already 8:00 PM. I almost made it to the stairs when a voice boomed through the hall.
"Jay!"
I'm dead.
I turned around to see Kuya Angelo with his arms crossed and a terrifyingly calm expression.
"Oh, hey Kuya! I didn't see you there," I said with a nervous laugh.
"Where were you?"
"I was... hanging out with Ci-N! Yeah, Ci-N."
Kuya stared at me, eyes narrowing. "I'll ask him."
He called Ci-N on speaker. My heart stopped.
"Hello, Boss?" Ci-N answered.
"Was Jay-Jay with you today?"
There was a pause. I prayed to every saint I knew.
"Yes, Boss. By the way, tell Jay-Jay to stop fighting me for food next time," Ci-N said flawlessly.
I exhaled a breath I didn't know I was holding. Thank you, Ci-N! I'm buying you all the chocolates tomorrow!
Once I reached my room, I collapsed against the door. My phone buzzed.
Ci-N: YOU OWE ME. If this is about Keifer, you're a dead woman.
Jay-Jay: You're a lifesaver! Chocolates are on the way!
Then, the phone rang again. It was Keifer.
"Hey, Love," he said, and the nickname made me melt. "Did you survive?"
"Barely. Ci-N saved my life. I have to buy him half the chocolate in the country now."
Keifer chuckled. "Don't worry, I'll help you pay the chocolate debt. Get some sleep, Jay. I'll see you at school."
"Bye, Keifer. I Love you."
"I Love you until the end of the universe."
