Chapter 11:The Accident That Broke All Of Us.
The grand hall of the Watson mansion was still heavy with tension.
After Keizer's announcement, no one from Section E was joking anymore.
Even Felix was quiet.
And that was terrifying.
Keizer turned to one of the men standing near the entrance.
"Prepare the vehicles," he said calmly.
The man nodded immediately.
Then Keizer looked at Keifer.
"You will not use public transport."
Not a suggestion.
An order.
Keifer's expression didn't change.
"I wasn't planning to."
Their eyes held for a moment.
Same energy.
Same quiet power struggle.
Then Keizer added, without emotion:
"My security team will escort you."
Keifer didn't thank him.
Didn't nod.
Just said, "They won't interfere."
"They won't need to," Keizer replied.
Then he turned and walked away, two bodyguards following behind him.
No goodbye.
No warmth.
Just control.
Felix leaned toward Aries and whispered,
"I feel like I just attended a board meeting about our lives."
Aries whispered back,
"Don't talk. Just survive the day."
Outside, several black vehicles were already lined up.
Keifer stepped forward, immediately taking control.
"Aries, you take the first van. Make sure everyone gets dropped home."
"Yes," Aries said, already moving into leader mode.
"Felix, stay with the group."
"I always stay with the group," Felix said. "For emotional support."
"You are the emotional problem," Ci-N muttered.
Keifer ignored them.
Then he looked at me.
"You're with me."
I nodded.
The cars began leaving the Watson mansion one by one.
Security vehicles moved ahead and behind like silent shadows.
Inside the car, it was quiet.
Just me and Keifer.
The city lights passed outside the window.
For the first time since the mansion, his shoulders relaxed slightly.
I looked at him.
"You okay?"
"Yes."
Pause.
Then he added quietly:
"I don't like him calling you my weakness."
I leaned back in the seat.
"Good."
That made him glance at me.
"Why?"
"Because if I were your weakness, you'd push me away."
Silence.
Then his hand reached over and held mine.
"I'm not pushing you away."
"I know."
The car moved smoothly through the night.
Traffic was light.
Everything felt calm.
Too calm.
At an intersection, the light turned green.
Our driver began to move forward.
Then—
Headlights.
Fast.
Too fast.
From the left.
Someone shouted from the front—
"Sir!"
Then—
CRASH
The world exploded sideways.
Metal screamed.
Glass shattered.
The impact slammed into Keifer's side of the car.
The force threw me against him.
The car spun once before stopping hard.
For a few seconds—
Nothing.
No sound.
No movement.
Just ringing in my ears.
Then pain hit.
My arm stung.
My forehead throbbed.
I tasted blood.
"Keifer?"
No answer.
My heart dropped.
I turned.
He was slumped against the door.
The entire left side of the car was crushed inward.
His shoulder was pinned.
There was blood.
Too much blood.
"Keifer!"
His eyes were closed.
"KEIFER!"
Outside, security vehicles screeched to a stop.
Doors slammed.
People shouting.
Someone pulled my door open.
"Miss, are you conscious?"
"I'm fine!" I cried. "Help him! Help him!"
They were already working on his side.
The door was jammed.
One of the guards shouted,
"Call an ambulance! Now!"
Another voice:
"Drunk driver. Vehicle ran the red light."
I didn't care.
All I could see was Keifer.
His head tilted slightly.
Blood running down his neck.
"Keifer…" my voice shook. "Please… please wake up…"
The door was finally forced open.
They carefully pulled the crushed metal away.
As they moved him, his face tightened.
A weak sound escaped him.
Relief hit me so hard I almost collapsed.
"He's alive!" I cried.
Sirens filled the night.
Paramedics moved quickly.
They checked me first.
"Minor lacerations. Possible concussion," one said.
"I'm fine," I insisted. "Check him!"
They were already working on Keifer.
"Severe trauma to the left side."
"Possible internal bleeding."
"Pulse weak."
They lifted him onto a stretcher.
His eyes opened slightly.
Just a little.
Unfocused.
I grabbed his hand.
"I'm here," I whispered. "Keifer, I'm here."
His fingers moved.
Barely.
But he squeezed mine.
Then his eyes closed again.
They loaded him into the ambulance.
One of the paramedics looked at me.
"You're coming too."
At the hospital, everything moved fast.
Too fast.
Doctors.
Nurses.
Bright lights.
They took him straight into emergency surgery.
Someone cleaned the blood from my face.
Wrapped my arm.
Checked my head.
I didn't care.
All I could see was the doors where they took him.
Aries arrived first.
Then Felix.
Then the rest of Section E.
Felix looked at me, pale.
"…Is he—"
"He's alive," I said.
But my voice shook.
Hours passed.
Too slow.
Finally, a doctor came out.
"Family of Keifer Watson?"
I stood immediately.
"Yes."
The doctor nodded.
"He sustained multiple fractures and internal bleeding. The injuries were critical…"
My heart stopped.
"…but the surgery was successful."
The air rushed back into my lungs.
"He's stable now."
Felix actually sat on the floor.
"I need water. Or a new life."
Aries closed his eyes in relief.
I leaned against the wall.
My hands were still shaking.
The doctor added gently:
"He's very lucky."
I knew.
Because when that car hit—
The entire impact was on his side.
He had taken the worst of it.
For me.
Later that night, I was finally allowed to see him.
He was unconscious.
Bandaged.
Machines beeping steadily beside him.
I walked slowly to the bed.
Sat down.
Then carefully held his hand.
"You're not allowed to do that again," I whispered.
My voice broke.
"You don't get to protect me like that if it almost kills you."
His fingers didn't move.
But the monitor beside him beeped steadily.
Strong.
Alive.
And for the first time since the crash…
I finally cried freely.
