Chapter 35 -  Four Choices, the Demon Wolf Neil (Seeking to Follow)

Liejia Academy, main training ground.

Wang Li saw Bai Chen, Meng Du, and the others. They, in turn, saw Wang Li. For a freshman entering the academy with level fifteen spirit power, he was undoubtedly shocking.

However, this genius, just entering the academy and already wanting to become a student council administrator, also angered them greatly.

They had earned their positions as administrators and vice presidents step by step over several years in the academy.

A freshman wanting to become an administrator on the very first day,was he aiming to become student council president tomorrow?

They had already discussed privately that whoever the challenged administrator was, they would make sure to teach this freshman a proper lesson, to show him the weight of experience.

At this moment, Bai Chen looked at Wang Li with a smiling face and said:

"Junior Wang Li, I am currently one of the student council vice presidents. My name is Bai Chen. I need to confirm: you want to challenge to become one of our student council administrators right now?"

Wang Li heard this and nodded without hesitation:

"That's right!"

At that, Bai Chen's eyes narrowed, a sharp light flashing through them. Then he continued:

"Are the rules of the challenge clear to you?"

Wang Li nodded again. It wasn't a secret. After being at the academy for two months, he had naturally learned the rules:

"Choose one of the existing administrators and either survive against them for the duration of an incense stick or defeat them directly."

Hearing this, Bai Chen no longer explained and instead stepped aside:

"Then I won't say more. Qing Yi, Neil, Cang Nan, Liu Si, come out and let the junior make a choice!"

Qing Yi, with a striking figure and a charming face, had a snake martial spirit. Neil, handsome like a demon, had a wolf martial spirit. Cang Nan, tall and lean with sharp eyes, had an eagle martial spirit. Liu Si, a sturdy figure over 1.8 meters tall, had a turtle martial spirit. These were nearly public knowledge within the academy.

Actually, Wang Li could defeat any of them. But if he started by fighting a girl, it might provoke public anger.

So Wang Li looked at Neil, the one with the wolf martial spirit, and said:

"Senior Neil, please instruct me!"

Neil stepped forward, a proud smile on his handsome face. He moved his body casually and said:

"Kid, if you pick that big guy over there, maybe you could survive the incense stick duration with some agility. But if you chose me, the Demon Wolf Neil, that is your greatest misfortune."

"Even though you just entered the academy, I won't hold back. Even as a genius, you need to be careful now."

Seeing Wang Li choose, Bai Chen nodded:

"Then let's go to the arena!"

The academy encouraged combat, but only on the arena, not private fights. Private fights could lead to severe injury or death after tempers flared, which no one wanted.

Conflicts within clubs, between clubs, all battles had to take place on the arena.

The student council strictly enforced this rule. No fight, for any reason, could occur privately.

These were not just junior soul masters. All of them had at least one soul ring, and their combat and destructive power were already formidable.

Student council leaders were always the strongest among students. Even when teachers could not intervene and conflicts arose between two or more clubs, the council had to maintain order.

After all, this was the academy. Parents trusted the academy with their children, they could not return a disabled child, or worse, a corpse.

After a short while, they arrived at the arena.

Under a crowd of spectators, Wang Li and Neil stood opposite each other on the arena floor. Bai Chen stood nearby as the referee.

Bai Chen's gaze swept over both, then in a serious voice he announced:

"Prepare yourselves. Summon your martial spirits!"

Neil shouted:

"Martial spirit, possess me!"

Wang Li shouted:

"Martial spirit, release!"

Neil's body transformed. Muscles bulged, he grew taller and stronger, turning into a werewolf with sharp fangs and claws. His blood-red eyes glowed, and his yellow soul ring floated above and below. He looked at Wang Li, surrounded by Blue Silver Grass, and said:

"Kid, my martial spirit is the Demon Wolf. I'm an eighteen-level soul master, a powerful offensive-type known for destructive strength. If you can't endure, surrender early!"

Wang Li was surprised Neil had openly revealed his advantage, but he smiled and said:

"Senior Neil, my martial spirit is mutated Blue Silver Grass, spirit power level fifteen, a control-type soul master. I'm confident in myself!"

Neil raised an eyebrow. According to academy teachings: offensive types slightly counter agile attack types; agile attack types slightly counter control types; control types slightly counter offensive types.

Agile attack types lack the ability to confront offensive types head-on. Control types cannot easily stop the rapid advance of agile attack types. Offensive types struggle to break through control-type defenses.

But every situation must be analyzed individually. Neil's Demon Wolf martial spirit would normally have trouble breaking Bai Chen's poison line. Could he fail to destroy the Blue Silver Grass surrounding Wang Li, even with a three-level advantage in spirit power? If he got close, the battle would be over.

"Be careful!"

Neil warned and extended his claws, charging forward. Facing this talented junior, he had revealed his advantage and could attack without hesitation.

He was a wolf martial spirit, called the Demon Wolf for style and as a nickname. His beast martial spirit enhanced his body, and with level eighteen spirit power, he was formidable. Even if he wasn't an agile-type soul master, he was as fast as the wind.

Wang Li's eyes narrowed. He was confident that his current body was not weaker than Neil's and might even surpass it. But his martial spirit was Blue Silver Grass, so he would use Blue Silver Grass to fight.

In his mind, he commanded:

"Blue Silver! Grow!"

In an instant, the Blue Silver Grass surrounding him surged violently in the wind. Thick vines extended, completely wrapping Wang Li.

Twelve of the vines, like pythons, actively moved to confront Neil.

Neil was unafraid. He looked for gaps and dodged. First, he could not be entangled, then he slashed with his claws, attempting to cut the vines.

But he was soon baffled. He could not cut them. At most, he left shallow marks, which immediately healed.

Wang Li chuckled. Growing and restoring the vines required spirit power, but controlling and directing them did not,it only consumed physical strength, like swinging his arms. So he swung the vines to attack Neil.

Neil could only dodge desperately…
