Chronvolr descended like a guillotine. It was the absolute killing blow. Pyrix, lying heavily on his bleeding chest in the ruined colosseum, was trapped in his wounded dragon form and could not move. His thick neck was stretched out, his massive reptilian eyes wide with the realization of death.
Around him, his legendary siblings lay broken on the crystal floor, unconscious. Algreth's dark blade aimed directly for the Fire Dragon's skull. It was a public execution.
No one in the stadium dared to move a single muscle. Except... exactly one person did.
Right before Chronvolr reached Pyrix's thick scales... another sword met it, a clank sound hummed loudly across the arena.
