Chapter 28 - Chapter 28: The Guardians’ Tacit Consent

"This isn't something we can involve ourselves in. Even if we want the Supreme Rulers to leave behind offspring, we can't use that as an excuse to pressure them."

"That's unrealistic, Demiurge."

Hearing Demiurge's proposal, Sephis nodded, then quickly shook his head.

He was certainly tempted. After all, he also wanted Father-sama to have another child, for himself to gain another family member. A win-win situation like that was something he had no reason to oppose.

But just as he said, as Floor Guardians, they were not allowed to interfere with the Supreme Rulers' will. If the Supreme Rulers had no intention of leaving descendants, then there was no point in carrying out any plan at all.

"I understand, Sephis. But like I said, this is only a safeguard. As long as the Supreme Ruler hasn't explicitly opposed it, then there's still a chance."

"As Floor Guardians, we can't ask the Supreme Rulers for permission every single time. We must also repay the Three Supreme Beings' kindness in our own way."

Demiurge shook his head at Sephis' words and patiently explained.

"If the Supreme Rulers learned what their Floor Guardians were thinking, they would surely feel pleased."

"No… perhaps this is also a test from the Supreme Rulers, meant to evaluate their Guardians' capabilities. Ah, as expected of the Supreme Rulers. I'm still far too shallow."

Demiurge thought bitterly. He still couldn't fully comprehend the depth of the Supreme Rulers' careful planning.

"Then there shouldn't be any issues now, right, everyone?"

After silently praising the Supreme Rulers' greatness a few more times in his heart, Demiurge addressed the assembled Floor Guardians.

"I agree. Leaving offspring behind for my beloved Momonga, I have absolutely no objections."

Albedo was the first to respond, her face glowing with a dazzling smile.

As someone whose settings had been altered by Momonga, Albedo's love for him had already reached the point of near madness. She was without question the most supportive of them all. If she weren't a little embarrassed, she would have already rushed off to Momonga-sama this very moment to create offspring with him.

"I don't object either. The Supreme Being's magnificence is deeply carved into my mind, and Herohero-sama's tentacles have left me completely unable to resist."

Shalltear, who had been crouching the entire time, spoke in a dazed, intoxicated tone, leaving Aura and the others beside her looking puzzled.

"Why have you been crouching this whole time, Shalltear?"

"Under the pressure of the Three Supreme Beings, I kept imagining Herohero-sama's tentacles… so things got a little dangerous."

Her answer was completely beyond everyone's expectations, making the other Floor Guardians jump in shock.

"Y-you… you actually dared to do something that outrageous right in front of the Three Supreme Beings?!"

Aura shouted at Shalltear, practically furious. How shameless could she be?

"Shorty, you've got some nerve talking about me. Are you really going to claim you've never fantasized about Naohara-sama?"

Shalltear looked at Aura with open mockery, as if to say, You're the same, so don't act innocent in front of me.

"Th-this… I've always thought of Naohara-sama as a father figure! H-how could I possibly have thoughts like that?!"

Noticing the strange look Sephis was giving her, Aura flailed her hands in a panic and shouted her denial.

"Ahem… Aura, if you really were to… well, I don't actually have any objections."

"If it's my sister, then I'll support her."

Sephis cleared his throat, then looked at Aura with an approving expression as he offered his encouragement.

Mare, standing beside him, also spoke up with a supportive look.

"How come even you two…"

Facing the two of them as they encouraged her, Aura spoke with a sense of despair. Heaven was her witness, she truly had never harbored any improper thoughts toward Father-sama. At most, she simply missed the warmth of his embrace.

"A fine idea. If the three of you succeed, it will be a joyous occasion for all of Nazarick."

Demiurge looked at the Guardians below, each reacting differently, and began clapping with a satisfied expression.

"Then please do your best, everyone. For Nazarick's glorious future!"

"For Nazarick! ×7"

...

"If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave first. As a butler, I must remain by the side of the Three Supreme Beings at all times."

Sebas, who had been quietly listening nearby, spoke up first once everything had concluded.

He needed to go and find the Supreme Beings. After all, he had been here for quite some time, and if anything were to happen to them, it would be a failure on his part.

"Very well, go ahead, Sebas. By the way, it might be a bit much for you alone to attend to all three Supreme Beings. Have the maid corps assist you."

"For example, you could arrange for Solution to serve Herohero-sama."

Demiurge nodded at Sebas. Although their relationship was not particularly good, that mattered little when it came to matters involving the Supreme Beings.

Thinking about how Sebas was on his own, Demiurge gave it some thought before making the suggestion.

Assigning Solution was also part of his plan. As a being created by Herohero-sama, Demiurge could sense the subtle and peculiar feelings Herohero-sama held toward her. If possible, letting the two be together could turn into a valuable opportunity.

He couldn't place all his hopes on Shalltear alone. If possible, Demiurge preferred to make multiple preparations to ensure everything went smoothly.

"Solution, is it? Understood. I'll make the arrangements shortly."

Sebas considered it briefly, then readily accepted the proposal. Just as Demiurge said, he alone couldn't possibly serve all three Supreme Beings at the same time. Having the maid corps assist him was indeed a sensible idea.

"Why can't it be me? I can serve Herohero-sama just fine too!"

Shalltear spoke with a hint of jealousy. After all, she was perfectly capable of serving a Supreme Being as well.

"Don't be ridiculous, Shalltear. Your position is that of a Floor Guardian. Are you saying you intend to go against the arrangements made for you by the great Supreme Being Peroroncino-sama?"

Seeing Shalltear sulking, Albedo stepped in to reprimand her. As the Guardian Overseer, it was her responsibility to do so.

"Ah… th-that's not possible. How could I ever dare to disobey Peroroncino-sama…"

"Fine, I get it. If I can't go, then I won't."

The moment Albedo mentioned Peroroncino's name, Shalltear immediately quieted down, speaking with clear reluctance.

"Good. Then that settles it. Everyone, return to your respective floors."

Seeing that Albedo had resolved the issue, Demiurge nodded in satisfaction. After addressing the Guardians, he was the first to leave, returning to his own floor.

"Then, farewell everyone!"

"Mm, goodbye."

"Goodbye, Sephis."

"Mm, goodbye, Aura."

The Guardians exchanged their farewells and departed for their respective floors. Aura ran over to Sephis as well to say goodbye in person.

Sephis gave her a long, lingering look before turning and leaving. In the blink of an eye, the entire Sixth Floor was left with only the Floor Guardians Aura and Mare.
