Chapter 226 - Chapter 223: Coronation Ceremony (3)

"Silence!"

Looking down at the crowd still arguing below, Naohara slowly rose to his feet. A terrifying Dragon Aura began to spread through the air.

A surge of fear gripped everyone's hearts, and the crowd gradually fell silent.

"Today is a special day. A solemn day."

Only after the noise subsided did Naohara begin to speak.

"First, allow me to introduce myself. I am the Sorcerer Greed King, one of the Three Kings of the Sorcerer Kingdom, and also your king."

Naohara stood with his hands behind his back. The radiant glow of the dragon-head emblem on his chest made the scene look especially imposing.

His gaze swept across the crowd below as he continued.

"The guiding principle of the Sorcerer Kingdom is [everyone has the right to pursue happiness]. As long as that pursuit does not interfere with the happiness of others, we will not impose excessive restrictions."

"Here, we guarantee that no one will oppress you, and no one will humiliate you."

"As citizens of the Sorcerer Kingdom, no one but us has the right to decide your life or death."

"Not the Empire. Not the Dragon Kingdom. Not the Holy Kingdom."

"Not even the powerful Slane Theocracy!"

The moment those words ended, the crowd instantly erupted into an uproar.

Everyone below stared in shock at the Sorcerer Greed King standing on the platform.

As expected of a Dragonoid, his tone was incredibly arrogant. With a single sentence he had offended four nations.

People nervously glanced toward the Bloody Emperor and the Dragon Princess, worried that either of them might show displeasure.

If things went badly, it could even spark a conflict between the two nations.

But it turned out their worries were unnecessary.

"Wonderful speech."

To everyone's astonishment, the Bloody Emperor not only showed no anger but even applauded in agreement.

As for the Dragon Princess, she was still cheering enthusiastically, seemingly shouting something like "Yay!"

In one corner of the crowd, Pabel, one of the Nine Colors of the Holy Kingdom, looked toward the person beside him as if he wanted to say something.

"Your Highness…"

"No need to worry about it."

Caspond waved his hand and interrupted him. He watched the figure above with a calm smile.

"I don't like empty boasts. Whether it's true or not, time will tell."

With that final remark, Naohara sat back down on his throne.

"As expected of you, Naohara. Your speech skills are far better than mine. I almost didn't know what to say earlier."

Seeing this, Momonga quickly sent a Message.

"I was just saying whatever came to mind. Looks like the effect wasn't bad."

Compared to Momonga's nervousness, Naohara appeared much more relaxed.

He had completely improvised the speech earlier, simply saying whatever came to mind. He had not even bothered to look at the prepared script.

"Hey, Blackie, stop muttering to yourself. It's your turn."

Naohara glanced at his friend beside him, who still had not reacted, and quietly reminded him.

"Huh? …Oh! Right."

Herohero snapped out of his thoughts, still looking slightly confused.

Was it already his turn?

It felt like only a blink had passed. Time really flew.

"Ahem…"

Looking down at the crowd below, Herohero felt a familiar headache coming on.

He really should have gone first.

Perhaps because he was the final speaker, the crowd appeared unusually excited. Countless burning gazes focused on him, making him deeply uncomfortable.

A flash of green light passed over him. After calming himself, Herohero recalled the contents of his speech and slowly began.

"I am the Black Corrosion King, one of the Three Kings of the Sorcerer Kingdom. There is only one thing I wish to say."

"As citizens of the Sorcerer Kingdom, your duty is to submit to your king. That is your mission. My mission, in turn, is to guarantee your safety so that you may live and serve the Sorcerer Kingdom."

"Mm… that's about it. Keep it up, my buffets."

At first, the people below nodded along as they listened to Herohero's firm speech.

But when they heard the final line, everyone froze.

"Buffets?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

They looked at one another, faces full of confusion.

Herohero quickly realized what he had just said and hurriedly turned to look at his two friends.

"This idiot!"

Naohara slapped his forehead. His eyes rolled upward as the corners of his mouth twitched uncontrollably.

Exchanging a glance with Momonga, the two of them helplessly sent several Messages into the crowd.

"Long live the Sorcerer Kingdom!"

Someone in the crowd suddenly shouted.

"Long live!"

"Long live the three majesties!"

...

Before most people could even react, deafening cheers erupted, completely disrupting their train of thought.

Caught up in the excitement, the crowd quickly forgot about the earlier remark and began shouting along.

"Phew, we barely managed to smooth that over."

Seeing the situation settle down, Naohara and the other two quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

The ceremony continued in an orderly manner.

"Mm… for the prosperity of the Sorcerer Kingdom, everyone should keep working hard."

After offering a few final words of encouragement, the three of them activated teleportation magic and vanished from the spot.

New Era, Year 1.

The coronation of the Three Kings of the Sorcerer Kingdom sent shockwaves across the world, and a brand new chapter quietly began.
