Asher didn't know where they were going, but what he really wanted to know was Harlan's fate.

He didn't want that to happen.
They both stopped at the entrance of Xavier's room, and Xavier turned to face Asher directly without batting an eye.
"Stay in your room. I would be working overnight in my office. Soon, I would join you later."
He then moved his hand, trying to touch Asher's hair—which he had been obsessed with lately—only for Asher to shift back, not letting him have access to his long, overflowing hair.
"You didn't just tell me to stay boxed up in that room and expect me to shine my teeth happily, did you?" Asher asked, baffled that he was being treated like some kind of property, and he didn't like it at all.
Ever since he got to the clan, he still hadn't even had a proper tour around the place because there wasn't just one house in the clan. Yet as usual, he was stuck in one place.
