The group walked through the streets of Luxar. As expected for moments like these, Aslan had completely disappeared—as with the first time Mitsuki came here, the old man had wandered off to put away the carriage and horses.
Now they were among the people of this city.
The streets were full of life even at this hour. Merchants raised their voices to attract customers while the mixed scent of freshly baked bread, roasted meat, and sweet spices spread through the cold air.
"I feel like people are staring at me weirdly," Mitsuki said.
Several gazes were fixed on him.
They weren't especially hostile looks, but rather curious ones. Some people quickly looked away when he noticed them; others kept staring for a few more seconds, as if trying to figure out whether he was a powerful adventurer or just a lost vagabond.
Ellegaard sighed.
"Maybe because your clothes are a mess. You look like a beggar."
