"Thank you...", Mitsuki corrected himself from his earlier failed attempt at expressing gratitude.
Lulu looked slightly confused, but she answered with a smile before walking away from the table. Mitsuki lowered his gaze to the food and picked up the utensils. His hands trembled as he held them, prompting Ellegaard to slam her palm against the table.
The impact echoed throughout the entire inn. A few people who had just arrived turned their heads in curiosity before returning to their conversations.
"Tick. Look me in the eyes."
Mitsuki's hand froze. His entire body did. But he recovered, cutting into the meat with his knife. The scraping of metal against the plate sounded painfully loud to him.
"Why would you want me to do that? Wouldn't it disgust you?" he replied.
"I told you to look at me. Are you deaf? Do it. Look at me."
