The Silver Leopard camp was a hive of controlled activity. Soldiers moved between heavy canvas tents, sharpening spears and fortifying perimeter warding posts.
When Ronan arrived at the central pavilion, Wang was already reviewing tactical maps alongside Wei Xiang. The moment Ronan stepped inside, Wang set his quill down, his dark eyes sharp.
"Cassian sent a captain instead of a messenger," Wang noted, crossing his arms. "I assume this isn't a courtesy call."
Ronan tossed a small parchment onto the map table. "Northern ridge. Someone bypassed our shared perimeter last night."
Wei Xiang stepped forward, his eyes scanning the coordinates. "An intrusion? From the northern sects?"
"We don't know," Ronan replied. "The energy signature isn't local. It suppressed itself the moment our ward stones flickered."
