Chapter 64 - Episode 61 - The Test She Didn't See Coming

Seo-yeon realized the test had already begun.

It did not arrive with threats. It arrived with opportunity. Her school called her into the administrative office, where the principal sat behind his desk, his posture unusually formal.

He smiled politely. "Seo-yeon," he said, "you've been recommended for a regional advancement review."

Her chest tightened. This wasn't random; this was escalation.

"Your academic performance has drawn attention," he continued.

Attention. The word echoed in her mind. Attention flowed upward—through layers, through systems. This wasn't just academic recognition anymore. This was observation.

She nodded carefully. "I understand."

The principal slid a document toward her. "Representatives may contact you directly."

Her fingers tightened slightly. Representatives. Not teachers. Not institutions. Observers. The evaluation had officially moved beyond the academic layer.

She signed the document, not because she was eager, but because refusal created a different kind of attention—dangerous attention. She understood the rules now: participation preserved your position, while resistance triggered elimination.

She left the office quietly, her pulse steady and her mind calculating. The system wasn't testing her father anymore.

It was testing her.
