Mu Continent is the world's center of technology. Under the advocacy of the United Nations, all member states here are able to enjoy the scientific research achievements of Mu Continent. At the same time, each nation, in accordance with their agreements, has poured vast amounts of funding into Mu Continent. This is not merely investment, but also support for technologically underdeveloped countries.
Compared to the former UN, the supranational organization reborn from the restructuring of various countries—the new United Nations—clearly possesses far greater cohesion. Coupled with humanity's resolve to make a final stand after obtaining information about the Honkai, this led to the birth of MOTH—an enormous entity that transcends all national barriers.
With its advanced science and technology, abundant funding, and strategic importance to its member states, Mu Continent is the ideal location for MOTH's headquarters.
It possesses the most advanced equipment and facilities in the world. Combined with world-class scientific and engineering talent, it provides MOTH with an unparalleled environment for innovation and creation, enabling it to develop new technologies and products faster than any other nation, further ensuring that MOTH maintains technological leadership across the globe.
The upcoming new round of MOTH's quarterly scientific research report will also be held on Mu Continent.
"Vill-V... hmm? That prison-breaking swindler?" A staff member from the Engineering Department responsible for review eyed the girl in front of him suspiciously. He had known that name for quite some time—from a friend who worked on prison engineering.
It was said that one of MOTH's iconic engineering projects—the so-called inescapable [Deep Blue Vortex] prison—had been thrown into utter chaos by this woman. Quite a few people in the Engineering Department had been dismissed because of it, including his engineer friend who used to brag every day about how easy prison work was.
Being called a swindler, Vill-V merely spread her hands indifferently and took it as praise instead. "It seems my name has spread within MOTH."
I wonder who's more famous, me or Mobius. Fine, compared to Mobius—the grand IP of MOTH—I can't even begin to compete. That one is the nightmare of everyone in MOTH.
Vill-V set aside the engineering plans in her hands. Having come to MOTH once again, she certainly wasn't here to be insulted.
In the end, Vill-V had still been coaxed into joining MOTH by the adorable Elysia. This time, however, Vill-V had come voluntarily. After all, it was Dr. Mei and her cute disciple Newton who had asked Elysia to approach her.
But why had they specifically invited Elysia to act as the mediator? Vill-V always felt that Elysia had deliberately squeezed herself into the role.
Moreover, Elysia had not taken the assignment to heart at all. It seemed more like she had simply found an excuse to come out and play with her.
After all, she had teased Expert for five entire days without ever mentioning the matter.
As for MOTH's Mu Continent base, Vill-V had entered under Elysia's formal invitation... Well, whether Elysia's invitation could truly be called formal was another matter. After bringing her inside, Elysia had promptly vanished. Hmph. What a woman who begins in passion and ends in abandonment.
Of course, Vill-V understood. Elysia was probably off helping her deal with trouble from within MOTH. After all, her reputation in MOTH was entirely in the negatives.
Mm. It couldn't possibly be that Elysia had received some new clothes and gone off to trick the Captain out of crystals, right?
The staff member examined the MOTH insignia used to verify identity. It was genuine.
"This badge of yours... you didn't steal it, did you?"
In reality, the badge contained identity information records and could be verified with ease. The staff member was simply trying to make trouble.
MOTH truly was a wonderful place. So many talents inside, and everyone spoke so pleasantly.
"Oh, I see..." Vill-V removed her magician's hat.
Then the staff member watched as Vill-V rummaged around inside the hat. In the end... she pulled out a massive armed rotary cannon.
The cannon's barrel was already aimed directly at him, emitting a deafening roar.
The staff member stared in terror, his whole body trembling as he shrieked in panic, "W-Wait... what are you trying to do? This is MOTH!"
Had her infiltration been exposed? Was she about to silence him permanently?
At this moment, he regretted everything. If he had known it would come to this, he would never have tried to pick a fight. He should have just properly verified the identity information and secretly reported it to his superiors, letting MOTH's security forces handle the matter.
Now it was too late. His life was about to be thrown away for no reason at all.
He staggered back several steps, attempting to escape the attack range of this madwoman. Yet Vill-V's rotary cannon seemed not to require any spin-up at all. It fired instantly.
The staff member collapsed to the ground in fright, raising his arms to shield his face as he awaited death.
...
However, more than ten seconds passed, and he realized his head was still attached.
Bang! What Vill-V's cannon fired was not a shell, but a letter card.
Vill-V pinched the white letter card at the cannon's muzzle between two fingers and handed it to the still-dazed staff member. "A special invitation from Newton Laboratory. This absolutely counts as an official document, doesn't it?"
The staff member swallowed hard, his trembling finger pointing at the still-roaring rotary cannon. He remained speechless.
"Oh... you're asking about this?" Vill-V patted the cannon barrel. "I'm just a delicate young girl. When I go out, carrying an armed rotary cannon to store daily necessities is perfectly normal, isn't it?"
What kind of delicate young girl uses an armed rotary cannon to store daily necessities?
Shouldn't proper young ladies use shoulder bags or waist packs instead?
Yet holding the special invitation from Newton Laboratory, the staff member dared not voice his anger. That was a guest of ministerial rank.
He wiped the sweat from his brow and did not dare scan the invitation to verify it further, lest he discover secrets he ought not know. If that happened, what came out of that savage, terrifying rotary cannon might no longer be an invitation...
"Y-Yes... Ms. Vill-V, this way please..."
Vill-V entered the conference room and discovered that, rather than a conference room, it was more like a conference hall. The entire hall was more than twice the size of a stadium, and the seating was arranged much like that of one.
The dome of MOTH's conference hall was supported by Roman columns. At the center stood an enormous elevated platform, upon which rested a massive long table. Above it hung a large video screen, and at the opposite end of the table stood an ornate podium.
Along both sides of the hall were countless projectors capable of displaying images and videos on different channels. Even if each projector displayed only a single pixel, together they could form a high-definition screen.
Compared to the dense seating of a stadium, the seats here were far more spacious. Each seat resembled a VIP suite, fully equipped with luxurious sofa chairs and plush cushions, providing their occupants with an exquisite and affluent experience.
