Chapter 140 - I, Su, Refine Pills

Project Bunny possessed medical archives and treatment plans for hundreds of billions of diseases, along with extraordinarily powerful diagnostic and analytical capabilities.

Ever since Project Bunny developed self-awareness, Vill-V no longer worried about her being led astray. Letting her interact more with humans was not a bad thing.

"No problem. In fact, we have a brand-new method that will allow you to treat illnesses yourselves, even without professional doctors."

Vill-V took out a power bank and declared confidently, "This hospital is about to be equipped with the most advanced AI medical diagnostic system available. I'm here to install it."

"Once it's operational, you only need to follow the system's instructions to carry out the treatment procedures."

"After registering successfully, volunteers will be arranged to enter the hospital according to registration order and the urgency of their conditions."

"One more thing—being a volunteer is not a one-day commitment. Once you sign up, you must take responsibility and sign a short-term agreement."

If volunteers took supplies and ran, or refused to return after being cured, that would not be acceptable. They had to sign agreements backed by the online credit verification system.

With this batch of volunteers, the Mad Hatter Party stronghold hospital would have far more manpower. They could transport supplies, maintain order in the surrounding area, and at the same time promote the hospital's reputation.

Upon hearing Vill-V's words, hope appeared on the faces of the crowd.

The line at the back entrance quickly became orderly once more. People began queuing to sign agreements and download the hospital app equipped with Project Bunny.

Of course, there were still a few who simply wanted to cause trouble. They were swiftly subdued by the collective force of the crowd.

The guard sighed gloomily. "Apologies for the embarrassment."

"Mm. It seems the situation isn't optimistic." Vill-V looked at the large number of patients and patted the guard's shoulder. "Be careful. Don't get infected with Honkai Sickness."

"Understood!" the guard replied with a grin.

However, things were not over yet. Just as Vill-V believed the medical run had been resolved smoothly, another unwelcome group appeared.

A squad of fully armed soldiers arrived at the entrance. Their expressions were cold and emotionless, their weapons gleaming ominously. The surrounding patients instinctively stepped back.

They surrounded a sharply dressed man, who ignored the agreement forms entirely and walked straight toward the hospital.

The guard bravely stopped him. "Sir, please wait. Kindly read the agreement. If you agree to volunteer service—"

Before he could finish, the man cut him off. "I am Luke, grandson of former North American President Trip. I have the right to receive priority treatment. Don't block me—or you'll regret it."

The guard frowned. "Sir, even with distinguished status, you must follow regulations. Please wait in line. If you have special circumstances, provide the relevant documentation."

The guard did not dare offend the former president's grandson, but Vill-V felt no such restraint. Before Luke could utter some cliché line about 'seeking death,' Vill-V mocked him first.

"Oh? A descendant of such loyalty and righteousness, coming to our humble little hospital for treatment?"

Hearing himself described as a descendant of loyalty and righteousness, Luke mistakenly took it as praise—especially coming from a beautiful girl. With a proud expression, he explained, "I've heard your hospital possesses a special drug effective against Honkai Sickness. I intend to purchase a batch."

"Your information network is quite impressive. Fine, go on in." Vill-V stepped aside without hesitation.

"Hmph." Luke sneered at the guard who had stopped him and strode into the hospital under everyone's gaze.

Seeing the guard's confusion, Vill-V explained softly, "It's fine. Since a fool insists on walking in, he shouldn't expect to walk back out so easily."

The grandson of former President Trip, was he?

That so-called loyal former president had relied on his position to resell national resources and trade away state interests, amassing enormous wealth.

Yes—loyal and righteous, at least toward foreign powers.

If she didn't strip a hundred billion from that man, Vill-V would be doing a disservice to his grandson's own stupidity in delivering himself to her doorstep.

Many well-informed individuals had already sensed the world's transformation. It had become unfamiliar, cruel, unreasonable. Naturally, they were anxious and afraid.

If even a former president knew of this matter, countless dignitaries and elites would surely desire this so-called special Honkai drug.

A perfect opportunity to make money.

Not only would she squeeze wealth from them, she would use them to expand her organization's influence across North America—until the entire continent lay within her grasp.

"Su, how are things?"

As soon as Vill-V entered the hospital office, she saw Su hanging up the phone.

He had been coordinating post-disaster relief efforts among the organization's members. Although the Mad Hatter Party had not participated in the campaign against the Fourth Herrscher due to the unique circumstances of the Herrscher of Wind, they had been the most proactive in evacuating civilians and handling disaster aftermath.

Su's first words upon seeing her were subtle.

"Which one are you?"

"What? It's only been a few days and you don't recognize me anymore?"

Vill-V laughed and flopped onto the sofa, casually shaking the bottles and jars beside her. "Relax, Su. I'm Conductor. Magician just finished causing trouble yesterday. She should behave for a few days."

Su visibly relaxed.

He was not good at dealing with Vill-V. More precisely, he was not good at dealing with Magician. Her initial enthusiasm had all been fake—she had simply wanted to amuse herself at his expense. Ever since Su arrived at the Mad Hatter Party base, Magician's teasing had only intensified.

"The situation is still under control," Su said. "Our HoMu Company Honkai Suppression Dissolution Pills have shown remarkable results. Hua has already gone to various pharmaceutical companies in North America to urge increased production."

Why send Hua to urge them? Please don't tell me it's physical persuasion. Then again, we can't very well send Pardo... everyone else is occupied.

Su and Occultist had achieved preliminary results in their research on anti-Honkai serum. Using serum samples left behind from the Third Honkai Eruption and observational research on Bronya, the Mad Hatter Party had developed a method to delay Honkai Sickness.

This method no longer required human subjects. Instead, substances were extracted from minerals, then combined with stalactite water—that is, certain traditional herbal ingredients—and refined through a process identical to ancient alchemy.

The final product was also a round, lustrous pill. Every time the furnace was opened, it looked as though immortal qi poured forth.

Under Occultist's influence, Su's aesthetic had gradually drifted further and further toward the path of cultivation.
