Chapter 144 - Between Two People, There Are Eight Hundred Schemes, and Only Lust Is Real

Naturally, Dr. Mobius remained ambiguous toward what Id Vill-V had said. Just the name alone already sounded absurd. No matter how one heard it, it reeked of Elysia's style.

As expected, not even half a word from Vill-V could be trusted.

Mobius quietly shifted her hips a little farther away from Vill-V. "Then, Little Witch of the Fairy Kingdom... could you stop charging already and let Conductor come out?"

Mobius did need Vill-V as cover, but... why was the concentration of lesbians around her so high? Elysia was one, and Vill-V was one too.

Elysia was a great fairy, Vill-V was a little fairy. Those two should pair up with each other instead of going around troubling others.

"Of course, Mobius. I'm listening." Conductor's playful voice rang out, making Dr. Mobius quietly sigh in relief.

In truth, Dr. Mobius would have preferred speaking with Expert. Expert was much like Dr. Newton or Klein. In verbal exchanges, Mobius could completely suppress her.

Unfortunately, the Vill-Vs were not fools. They would never let Mobius bully adorable Expert.

"Mobius, haven't you always wanted to study our condition?"

Conductor was puzzled. Earlier, when Magician and Expert had appeared, Mobius had tried every possible way to pry information out of them. Yet once Id came out, Mobius had retreated instead.

Judging purely by dominance and submissiveness, Id was actually the easiest Vill-V to bully. No other Vill-V would collapse so quickly at a touch.

Could it be that she thought Id was only pretending?

"Heh. What's there to study about that little-girl type of personality?"

Mobius spread open her right hand and looked at the restored soft, fair palm. She could not help clicking her tongue. Vill-V had actually spent time developing this kind of product. Even with the conveniences of a laboratory, Mobius had never bothered making such things. Among all the top scientists she knew, Vill-V was the one most like a girl. (Mobius thought you were a proper broad.)

If Vill-V knew Mobius' opinion, one wondered how she would react. (Id: I'm a real man! I like girls, so what's wrong with doing some girly things? In the Honkai world, if you don't properly do what girls are supposed to do, you might end up becoming Carole's old mother.)

Every Vill-V possessed some outstanding trait. Yet the little fairy Vill-V just now seemed to have no distinctive quality at all. She was like some ordinary young girl passing by, far too easy to see through.

If one had to name a trait, then perhaps she was especially lustful?

Facing that sharp gaze, even Mobius felt the urge to cover her chest. She was already that well-endowed, so why did she still keep staring at someone else's?

Could she be a genius of lust?

Things that were too easy to understand always made Mobius lose interest. Yet this Vill-V seemed somewhat different.

Although Mobius could sense her concern, she had not come here seeking comfort from some young girl.

She was not that fragile.

And Mobius did not believe she possessed enough charm to attract young women. Vill-V's shameless throwing herself at her felt more like a disguise.

"Then, Great Sage Vill-V, let us discuss a plan to counter Dr. Mei's plan."

"First, remove that hand of yours that has nowhere else to go from my thigh."

...

Vill-V was indifferent to the wrangling among the higher-ups. Or rather, all of Vill-V's attention was focused on Mobius' body, so she had not cared at all what was being said during the meeting.

That's right, I'll admit it. I had long been coveting Mobius' body.

Back then, Mobius appeared often in certain Elysian Realm clips, but Vill-V had no interest whatsoever in a childlike body. A mature and voluptuous Mobius, however, was exactly her type.

In any case, with Mobius' insight, she had already noticed. Better to confess early and receive leniency.

Unfortunately, Mobius was not truly a lesbian. She only seemed to reveal that side of herself toward Klein. Toward Vill-V's closeness, she was always resistant, leaving Vill-V with few chances to sneak in a wandering hand.

Clearly everyone was a girl, so why was her guard so high? How hateful!

Fine, all of that was secondary. The important thing was that this deep exchange with Mobius had brought Vill-V abundant gains.

Vill-V had not expected that compared to Dr. Mei, Mobius would be more inclined to form an alliance with her.

Could it be because both she and Mobius were lesbians, while Dr. Mei was a proper heterosexual?

Poor Dr. Mei. Without joining the lesbian camp, heterosexuals in the Honkai world rarely had good endings.

Thinking back, among the named characters in Honkai's story, aside from Cecilia and Dr. Mei, weren't all the others lesbians?

Still, from Mobius' perspective, Vill-V did count as being in the same camp as her—villains willing to stop at nothing for a certain goal.

But precisely because of that, villains were easier to understand. A villain's objective was always clear. Even if Vill-V lied endlessly, Mobius still felt she had seen through Vill-V's intentions.

Ah, no, that was not a disguise at all. My love for beautiful girls is sincere. Even the destruction of the world is less important than snuggling beautiful girls! (Loudly!)

Faced with such genuine emotional outpouring, it would be stranger if Mobius did not believe it.

Although using this method to lower Mobius' guard might damage Vill-V's reputation, venting her desires in this way truly was the fastest route to gaining Mobius' trust.

Vill-V could never become Mobius' true confidante. On that point, Vill-V had self-awareness. The only one who could understand Mobius was Klein, and it could only ever be Klein.

As for Dr. Mei, as one of humanity's saviors, her ideals fundamentally clashed with people like them. Her plans often left Mobius unable to grasp them. They appeared purposeless, yet were equally ruthless.

To Mobius, such a person was even more dangerous than villains who simply followed their desires. Therefore, she had to place constraints on Dr. Mei to prevent any unexpected developments.

Of course, this restraint was not to protect humanity, but to protect herself.

Compared to humanity, the probability of Dr. Mei targeting Mobius and Vill-V was much higher. As a smart person, Mobius naturally would not wait until signs appeared before preparing countermeasures.

Pulling Vill-V into the arrangement was mainly because Mobius believed that Vill-V, being equally intelligent, would not sit still and await death.

Although Vill-V's method of expressing her stance was somewhat unusual, it was still within reason.

This was only because Mobius had not yet met Pure Evil and Occultist. Otherwise, she might instead have gone to Dr. Mei to restrain Vill-V.

Vill-V agreed to Mobius' plan, but not in order to restrain Dr. Mei. Although Dr. Mei had indeed changed somewhat because of her, Vill-V had other considerations as well.

As for whether Mobius believed her, and whether Mobius had additional backup plans, Conductor naturally took all of that into account.

Between two people, there were eight hundred hidden schemes. Only Id's lust was genuine...
