"Transcription Seal!"
As Kagetsu poured a massive surge of ocular power into Naraku's body, the same Mangekyō Sharingan pattern as his own instantly bloomed within Naraku's pupils.
The tomoe spun violently, then slowly faded, sinking into darkness as though swallowed by an abyss.
"…Done."
Kagetsu withdrew his finger and exhaled deeply.
Engraving this ocular technique through the Transcription Seal had nearly drained over half his eye power. Even for him, the burden was immense.
Fortunately, he was in an Edo Tensei body. While it restricted his peak strength, it also meant he didn't have to fear exhaustion in the same way. Chakra regenerated endlessly, and the Mangekyō's ocular power recovered far faster than it would in a living body.
"How is it?" Kikyo stepped forward at once. Though her voice was steady, she couldn't quite conceal the tension in her eyes.
Kagetsu met her gaze and nodded. "It's complete. Everything's prepared. Once my chakra and eye power stabilize, I'll begin."
"Kikyo! Kagetsu! What are you two plotting?!"
Inuyasha's shout rang out from beyond the clearing.
Kagetsu turned.
Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, and Shippō stood only a few meters away, but a transparent barrier blocked their path.
They could see everything.
They just couldn't reach it.
Kagetsu raised a brow slightly and glanced at Kikyo. "Your doing?"
"Yes." Kikyo inclined her head calmly. "If we're to perform a resurrection, we cannot risk interruption."
Kagetsu gave a faint smile. "Thoughtful as ever."
Outside the barrier, tension thickened the air.
Inuyasha slammed his hand against the invisible wall, only to be repelled once more.
"Damn it!"
"Don't waste your strength," Miroku said, settling down cross-legged despite the lingering pain from the miasma. "You can hear them, can't you?"
All eyes turned to Inuyasha.
The barrier blocked bodies, but not sound.
With his hanyō hearing, nothing escaped him.
"…They're talking about resurrection," Inuyasha muttered, ears twitching as he focused.
"Resurrection?!" Kagome and Sango cried out together.
"Lady Kikyo has been dead for fifty years," Miroku murmured in disbelief.
"And Kagetsu said he's already a dead man," Kagome added quietly.
"Are they using the Shikon Jewel?" Sango asked sharply, remembering how Naraku had once manipulated its power to revive Kohaku.
Kagome shook her head. "If that were their plan, they would've done it long ago. They've had enough shards."
"Then why isn't Kikyo killing him?!" Inuyasha growled, staring at the immobilized Naraku. This had been his chance.
Miroku sighed. "For now, we can only watch."
Inside the barrier, Kagetsu's chakra had fully stabilized.
He looked at Kikyo, who stood several meters back, gaze fixed on him.
"When it begins," he warned gently, "the chakra surge will be violent. Keep your distance."
She nodded.
Kagetsu's expression hardened.
In the next instant,
His chakra erupted.
A pale-blue torrent exploded outward like a storm-tossed sea. His long black hair whipped behind him, rising like dark flames.
Crack,!
The stone beneath his feet shattered under the pressure. Spiderweb fractures raced outward across the mountaintop.
Yet the destructive surge remained confined within a precise one-meter radius.
Naraku did not move.
Kikyo was untouched.
The control was absolute.
Outside the barrier, everyone felt it.
A crushing pressure descended like a collapsing mountain.
Inuyasha grit his teeth, forcing himself upright.
Kagome, Sango, and Shippō were driven to their knees, breath catching painfully in their throats.
"…That power…" Inuyasha muttered.
Within the storm of chakra, Kagetsu's Mangekyō Sharingan spun rapidly, bleeding ocular power into the technique.
Suddenly,
The Mangekyō pattern reappeared within Naraku's eyes.
The Transcription Seal activated.
The engraved ocular technique triggered instantly.
The tomoe spun wildly, consuming the sealed eye power at a terrifying rate.
As if guided by invisible strings, Kagetsu and Naraku moved in perfect unison.
Hands rose.
Fingers interlocked.
And both voices rang out together:
"Gedo Art,Rinne Rebirth!"
This was the final safeguard Kagetsu had prepared for his return to life.
Long before this moment, using his Mangekyō's unique ocular ability, Amenonuhonotama, he had once copied the forbidden technique wielded by Nagato, the Outer Path's ultimate art.
But copying it had never been enough.
The Gedo Art: Rinne Rebirth was a Six Paths–level technique.
A power meant solely for the Rinnegan.
A jutsu that rewrote the boundary between life and death.
The Mangekyō Sharingan could not truly contain such authority.
So Kagetsu did not attempt to force it to.
Instead, he built a system.
Step One , Ocular Imprint Transcription Seal
Rather than transplanting eyes or awakening a true Rinnegan, Kagetsu created a forbidden fūinjutsu:
The Ocular Imprint Transcription Seal.
When activated, the seal temporarily engraved the Rinne Rebirth pattern directly onto the target's chakra network.
It synchronized their optic nerves to the Rinne pattern he had copied.
It mapped the pathways.
Forced compatibility.
A temporary firmware upload etched into flesh and chakra alike.
The moment Kagetsu triggered the seal, the Rinne pattern bloomed within Naraku's pupils, spinning once before settling into place.
Step Two , External Chakra Supply
Rinne Rebirth devoured two things:
Life force.
Chakra.
That was why it killed.
Naraku possessed tremendous vitality, but insufficient to revive two along with no chakra and ocular power to sustain the technique.
Kagetsu, as an Edo Tensei body, possessed the opposite.
He had limitless, regenerating chakra.
Endless ocular power.
But no living life force to sacrifice.
Individually, both would fail.
Together,
They completed each other.
Through a secondary linking seal, Kagetsu channeled his endlessly regenerating Edo chakra outward. He refined part of it, converting raw chakra into Yang-aspected vitality, stabilizing the structure of the technique before routing it directly into Naraku's chakra system.
Naraku bore the cost.
But the burden was no longer absolute.
The chakra drain was offset.
The ocular strain was supported.
Only one price remained unavoidable.Life.
The Gedo Art: Rinne Rebirth could not exist without sacrifice.
That law could not be erased.
Only redistributed.
As the technique activated, the engraved Rinne pattern flared violently. The linked seals pulsed in unison.
Kagetsu's chakra surged like a roaring current, flooding into Naraku's body.
Naraku's life force ignited in response.
Not ripped away in an instant,
But drawn out steadily, like oil feeding a sacred flame.
The air trembled.
Chakra intertwined.
Yang vitality reinforced the structure.
Ocular power stabilized the collapse point.
The jutsu no longer wavered on the brink of failure.
However Naraku's body did not crumble to ash.
Instead, his skin began to pale. Cracks spread slowly across him as the technique consumed him from within. His vitality drained in waves rather than exploding outward in a single catastrophic surge.
He was dying.
But not instantly.
Not violently.
At the center of the ritual, something began to change.
Life returned.
The boundary stirred.
The incomplete halves had fused into a functioning whole.
One supplied infinite chakra.
One supplied mortal life.
And between them, through seal and synchronization, the forbidden art of the Outer Path finally stabilized.
