Jing Yuan truly lives up to his title as the General of the Luofu. With just a few words, he managed to freeze Kenta—a man usually as fierce and unpredictable as a mountain eagle—right in his tracks.

Kenta pointed a trembling finger at his own chest, a look of pure bewilderment on his face. "You... you know me too?"

There was a distinct crack in his voice because, if his ears hadn't deceived him, the high and mighty General Jing Yuan had just called him... Grandmaster?

"Wait, wait, wait. General Jing Yuan," Kenta stammered, his internal logic short-circuiting. "Forgive my impertinence, but I have to ask... exactly how old are you?"

Kenta had suddenly realized a very terrifying possibility. From the data bank, he knew the Xianzhou "Long-Life Species" didn't exactly age like milk.

Jing Yuan froze for a split second, then let out a soft, melodic chuckle. He cupped his hands in a respectful salute. "Grandmaster Kenta, this junior is currently a little over 820 years old."

Kenta: "..."

So... I'm an old geezer? A fossil? A prehistoric relic?

Kenta fell into a profound silence, propping his chin with one hand. His mind was a hurricane of existential dread. If Jing Yuan was 800, and Kenta was his "Grandmaster," did that make him a thousand? Two thousand? Was he alive when they invented the wheel?

Welt Yang, ever the perceptive patriarch, realized that the conversation was about to veer into "Classified Personal History" territory.

"Stelle, March, let's head out first," Welt whispered, steering the two stunned women toward the exit of the Sky-Faring Commission.

The moment they hit the fresh air of the Central Starskiff Haven, March 7th—who had the impulse control of a caffeinated squirrel—exploded.

"Waaaaah! Did you hear that?! General Jing Yuan called Kenta 'Grandmaster'! Grandmaster!"

Her focus wasn't on Kenta's prehistoric age at all, but on the linguistic implications of the title in her own head. Wait, isn't 'Grandmaster' (Shifu) sometimes used for a master's husband? I might be March 7th, but I don't want to actually be the third wheel in a marriage! she screamed internally.

Welt Yang sighed, shaking his head. "It seems Kenta's past is even more 'special' than we anticipated. Let's go meet the informant the General arranged, then we'll message Kenta later."

Welt wasn't bothered by the age gap. From his perspective, age was just a number—if he didn't mention he was over 90, who would know? Besides, Welt was an expert at dancing on the line between life and death; a few centuries here or there were just rounding errors.

Meanwhile, Stelle was lost in her own "Raccoon Logic" fantasies. According to the General, Kenta is not only an elder to a High General but potentially a married man! Oh my god... that makes me like him even more. Stelle decided that since she was "born" recently on Herta Space Station and Kenta was a thousand-year-old antique, they were the perfect "Vintage x Modern" aesthetic. And she didn't care about a wife—if she liked him, he was hers, right?

With their brains in various states of disarray, the group met their assistant, Tingyun, and began their pursuit of Kafka.

The Seat of Divine Foresight

Back in the General's sanctum, Kenta and Jing Yuan were locked in a staring contest. Jing Yuan sat comfortably in his massive, ornate command chair, while Kenta had pulled up a simple wooden stool and sat directly opposite him.

Stare—

Kenta observed Jing Yuan with the intensity of a scientist examining a new species of bacteria.

Jing Yuan smiled, leaning back with a lazy, effortless grace. "What's wrong, Grandmaster Kenta? After all these years, have you forgotten what your disciple looks like? Do I need to lean closer for a better look?"

Kenta waved his hands dismissively. "Alright, stop with the 'Grandmaster' stuff. It sounds weird. Just call me Kenta. Besides, you know I have amnesia, right?"

Jing Yuan chuckled and nodded.

Kenta tried to settle his racing heart, then went straight for the question that was eating him alive. "By the way... according to you... your Master... she's my wife, isn't she?"

Kenta was sweating. Before he transmigrated, he was just a regular college student. Sure, he'd fought for his life in Belobog, but he hadn't even reached the 'dating' stage of a relationship, let alone marriage.

Damn it, this messed-up matchmaking system! The thought that he might have had a whole family on the Luofu—a happiness he couldn't even remember—made him feel a sadness akin to being elbowed 24 times in eight seconds.

Wait! If I have a wife, I should at least find out if she's a beauty!

Kenta looked at Jing Yuan—shrewd, calculated, and sharp. If his wife was this guy's Master, Kenta's mind immediately conjured an image: an ancient-style literary beauty with a hidden smile, a thousand schemes, and eyes that were always narrowed in mystery.

Acceptable? he wondered. Then I just need to find a way to get March and Stelle to join the family... and Bronya... and Seele... wait, Cocolia and Serval too? Before Kenta could finish building his "Grand Galactic Family Plan," Jing Yuan's next sentence shattered the dream.

"Actually, Kenta, you don't need to worry. You and my Master never actually had the chance to marry. The title of 'Grandmaster' is just a matter of habit among us."

The white-haired General's smile was now incredibly mischievous. It was clear he had saved this bit of news just to watch Kenta squirm.

Kenta: "..."

You little rascal, Jing Yuan. You dare to troll your own Grandmaster? He let out a massive sigh of relief. "Phew... okay. So I haven't fallen into the cage of marriage yet."

Feeling like a free man again, Kenta's motivation returned. "So, where is this Master of yours now?" he asked casually. If he wanted to find his memories, this woman was his best lead.

But the moment he asked, a fleeting, dark shadow crossed Jing Yuan's eyes.

"Yanqing," Jing Yuan said to the young, blonde boy standing nearby. "Go brew a fresh pot of tea for your Senior Uncle."

The boy, Yanqing, had been listening with rapt attention, but he bowed respectfully and scurried off.

Once they were alone, Jing Yuan's lazy demeanor evaporated. "Master is no longer on the Xianzhou," he said, his voice dropping into a low, serious register.

"Oh?" Kenta leaned in.

"Jing Yuan, just say what you mean."

The General of the Luofu took a deep breath, his golden eyes locking onto Kenta's crimson ones. "Though her whereabouts are unknown, Grandmaster Kenta, you must remember one thing..."

Kenta unconsciously held his breath.

"If you see her—run. You must run as fast as you can. Otherwise... you will never be able to escape her again."

Kenta: "..."

"Did you just say something very terrifying?"
