Chapter 4 - Awakening

Moros rose early, unable to contain his excitement; this was the day he was most looking forward to since his reincarnation, his awakening.

All the different possibilities floating around his head about what could come out of it.

'Maybe darkness, moon, night, maybe even celestial?'

As he's getting changed. Into his normal clothes. A smart-casual white button-up shirt. With black trousers down to his feet. With his black and white hair gracefully falling down his face.

His inner monologue was interrupted by a knock on his door.

"Tap"

"Young master, it's time."

"I'm coming, Jennifer."

With Moros promptly leaving his room. With Jennifer walking silently behind him. Like a ghost. Both of them are making their way to the exit of the mansion. Where Luna was standing and smiling.

"My boy,"

"Mother,"

As they embrace each other.

"Let's go, my son."

As they got into the carriage. With Luna sitting opposite to Moros. In the beautiful carriage.

With the carriage going towards the awakening center. Where Moros's future awaited.

After a couple of hours they finally arrived at the center. Which was structured like an ancient Greek temple. With large marble floors. Large, large pillars with intricate artworks on them. Depicting the history of the greatest awakeners of history. And some being ancestors of Luna and Moros.

Moros's attention was then brought to the people standing in front of the temple. With his grandparents there with his father. Which he hadn't seen in years due to the war with the demons at the time.

Moros begins to open his mouth, so say something. But before he does, his father speaks.

"My son, you have to succeed."

"I know I can't let the family down."

"But you won't because I know it," he says, smiling.

"I'll do my best."

As the group starts to make their way into the temple-like structure. With other families looking at them with envy and awe.

"Look at them."

"Must be a rich family."

"I recognize one. It's the Xanthus family."

"Of course it's a rich family like that."

Everyone in the group heard the murmurs next to them except Moros, who wasn't awakened.

With them going up the marble stairs and going into the temple. They were greeted by a man with black hair and abyssal black eyes. Which made him look like a lifeless puppet.

As he robotically stared at the group. With him not saying anything and turning, gesturing for them to follow him further into the center.

With them making their way through the temple, which was a maze of different pathways. They finally turn into a room. With a white interior with glossy marble floors. With some stairs leading up to an altar. Which the man walked up to and gestured for Moros to go to.

As Moros makes his way over to the altar, the rest of the group stands in the corner of the room. Waiting in anticipation for the upcoming event to occur.

Finally, Moros gets to the altar with the man standing next to it. He gestures to touch it.

As Moros complies with his request. And touches the altar. The man finally opens his mouth and speaks an incomprehensible language.

"У/ei92#*]"

With those words Moros was brought into his own mind.

'Where am I?'

With this being pure nothingness. Absence of everything. Nihility.

Within the nothingness something speaks. Reverberating within his mind.

"Are you worthy?"

"What makes you believe?"

"What are you to yourself?"

The questions of the void filled his mind. Making him think about himself.

'Am I Jake or Moros?'

'Who am I really?'

'What am I?'

With these thoughts, his mind starts to fill up. Making him lightheaded. Making him start to lose his consciousness as the void starts to consume him.

The void utters one last question.

"Are you still going to bring ruin to those you love?"

'No!'

'No, I won't give up now!'

'I can't.'

Before he passed out. With mutations occurring all across his body. His body grows 6 inches taller. His muscles become more refined. His crimson eyes become darker. His hair becomes longer.

With all of these changes occurring before their eyes, the group gasps in astonishment. With their son and grandson. Evolving into a new superior being.

With their visible changes occurring, the biggest change was with the mind. Moros's outlook on everything was changing. How he perceived reality changed. What it meant to take a life changed.

'Lives are all meant to end.'

'Taking a life means nothing in the grand scheme of everything.'

'One life is just a spec of dust.'

'Irrelevant,'

With these new thoughts forming within Moros's mind, it started to form a second personality within him. One that thought everything was irrelevant and saw the world as just an existence stepping ever closer to erasure.

After the second personality formed, his thoughts cleared. And he opened his eyes. To see a group of people standing over in the corner of the room with astonished faces.

Moros is looking at them with an indifferent expression.

Seeing the existence that brought him into the world running towards him with a smile.

Moros thinks, 'I need to act like a normal existence.'

Moros opens his arms and embraces his mother. With his father and grandparents walking slowly towards him wearing proud smiles on their faces.

"Well done, my son."

"Thanks," Moros replies in a robotic tone.

With this response, Luna raises an eyebrow and looks into his eyes, saying.

"Seems someone has a new personality."

"Seems so, dear." Replies Moros's father as he walks towards him.

"So tell me, son, what did you awaken?"

"Of course you don't have to tell me, but I will know one way or another."

He says matter of factly.

Realizing Moros's hesitation and indecisiveness on the matter.

Moros thinks. 'Should I tell them?'

'If they're going to find out anyway, I might as well let these exist.'

Moros begins to open his mouth.

"The power I gained is the 'END.'"
