The familiar sensation of reality shifting surrounded us as my cramped dorm room dissolved, replaced by the luxury suite of my pocket dimension. Belle glanced around, noting the upgrade.
"It's bigger," she said. "And... different."
She was right. The Bronze upgrade had changed the space. The bed was larger, the windows wider with a more impressive view. The lighting was softer, more ambient. Even the air smelled better—sandalwood and vanilla instead of the generic "clean" scent from before.
"I made some improvements last night." I moved toward her. "Bronze rank now. Longer duration. And capacity for two people besides me."
Her eyebrows shot up. "Two? So you could bring Naomi and me in here together?"
"Exactly."
"Planning ahead, I see." She shook her head. "You're becoming quite the operator, Jace Monroe."
"I prefer to think of it as adapting to my circumstances." I reached for her, placing my hands on her waist. "Now, about that buff..."
