Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: Becoming a Dad

Time flew, and in the blink of an eye, a year had passed.

In West City, at the Capsule Corporation headquarters, a building usually brimming with futuristic energy, an unprecedented tension hung in the air.

The source of this tension was none other than the lady of the house in the master bedroom, her belly noticeably swollen Bulma was pregnant.

The news hit like a bombshell, upending not only Dr. Brief's household but the operations of the entire company.

Early in the morning, Krillin stepped out of the bedroom and immediately noticed a team of cleaning robots moving carefully along the floor, wiping it with nano-sponges as though afraid of making even the slightest sound.

The metallic art-deco walls of the corridor had been replaced with soft, sound-absorbing panels.

The air, once tinged with the cold scent of oil and metal, now carried the peculiar fragrance personally formulated by Mrs. Brief a so-called "cosmic-grade aromatherapy" said to soothe the baby in the womb.

It smelled like a bizarre mix of strawberry milk and circuitry.

"Good morning, Mr. Krillin."

A butler robot glided forward, holding a tray with a cup of warm water precisely maintained at 37.5°C.

"According to Dr. Brief's instructions, to ensure the health of the lady and the fetus, no sounds above 40 decibels are allowed within a 100-meter radius."

"All food must undergo spectral analysis to confirm it contains no potential allergens."

Krillin took the cup and looked past the robot. Dr. Brief was there, wearing an enormous helmet-like scanning device, sneaking close to the master bedroom door, muttering under his breath.

"Vital signs stable, energy waves unusually strong… grandson, let me collect a little more data…"

Meanwhile, Mrs. Brief carried a pot of oddly colored soup, her face full of maternal love as she coaxed.

"Krillin, I used some extremely rare healing plants and energy fruits to make this soup. It's especially good for the baby. Give it to Bulma while it's still warm."

Krillin looked at the pot, which bubbled green, and twitched at the corner of his eye.

This wasn't just prenatal care; it was full-on first-level combat readiness.

He shook his head helplessly and pushed open the bedroom door.

Inside, Bulma leaned against the bed, flipping through a parenting magazine in irritation.

"So annoying! Dad treats me like a lab experiment, Mom treats me like a nutrient dish! I'm just pregnant, not fragile cargo!"

Krillin smiled and sat on the edge of the bed, gently holding her hand.

"They only care about you. After all, this is a big deal for our family."

He placed his palm gently on Bulma's rounded belly, closing his eyes and slowly channeling a strand of pure ki into her.

It was a daily routine, nurturing the life growing inside her with his own power.

Genius Intellect activated, and his perception dove into a microscopic level beyond comprehension.

He could "see" the tiny life, each cell radiating explosive vitality, the genetic chains like shimmering galaxies, brimming with unimaginable potential.

[Ding! Target life detected… analyzing…]

[Potential Rating: SSS – Super Earthling!]

[Genetic Composition: Saitama Template (mutated) 3.5%, Brief Family Genius Genes (dominant)…]

[Comprehensive Assessment: This individual has potential to break genetic limiters and possesses exceptional scientific aptitude a perfect fusion of combat and intellect.]

Krillin's heart skipped a beat.

The Saitama Template gene could indeed be inherited. Even at just 3.5%, it meant his child would be born at the top of Earth's biological hierarchy.

As he marveled, he suddenly felt a faint touch against the strand of ki he had sent.

Immediately after, a weak yet pure feedback ki flowed from the fetus, as if responding to him.

It was tiny, but carried an innate dominance and intimacy.

Krillin's eyes snapped open, his face alight with joy.

"What is it?"

Bulma was startled by his reaction.

"He… he's interacting with me."

Krillin's voice trembled slightly. The sensation was more profound than defeating any enemy he had faced.

This wasn't just a resonance of power it was a miracle of shared blood.

He could feel the little one greedily absorbing the ki he sent, clumsily mimicking and responding with its newly born energy.

"You little rascal, wanting to learn martial arts at this age?"

Krillin teased, yet his eyes shone with endless tenderness.

From that day on, nurturing the fetus became an even more dedicated task.

Almost around the clock, he wrapped Bulma's abdomen with his ki, savoring this unique father-child communication.

On the day of delivery, West City's largest private hospital was locked down.

Outside the delivery room, Dr. Brief paced nervously, and Master Roshi was so anxious he couldn't even read Playboy.

The Launch sisters alternated between praying and polishing rocket launchers, declaring that anyone who hurt Bulma would be blown to pieces.

"Waaah!"

Suddenly, a cry erupted from the delivery room.

It wasn't an ordinary baby wail, but a concentrated shockwave.

Bang! Crash!

The entire hospital building, from top to bottom, saw all glass windows, doors, and equipment shatter instantly.

Outside, Dr. Brief's sensors maxed out, and Master Roshi's sunglasses snapped in two.

Everyone staggered, dizzy and horrified.

Only Krillin smiled proudly at the sound.

The delivery room door opened, and nurses, pale-faced, pushed out the baby carriage, gazing at Krillin as if he were some monster.

Krillin picked up the tiny infant.

The child did not inherit Krillin's bald head but had a full head of soft black hair.

He opened wide, dark eyes, curious about this new world.

The terrifying aura had subsided but still made the air feel heavy.

"Let's give him a name."

Bulma, weak but radiant with happiness, spoke first.

"Let's call him Trunks!"

She had planned the name long ago.

"No," Krillin blurted.

He couldn't forget the tragic hero from the future, burdened with the despair of the world.

He wanted his son to have a carefree, sunny life, not be weighed down by a heavy name.

"Why not? It's a nice name!"

Bulma frowned.

"Sounds like a guy who sells underwear," Krillin joked offhandedly.

"Let's call him Tarin, simple and easy to remember, and it has a nice ring to it."

"Tarin?"

Bulma repeated it a couple of times, deciding it was fine. She was too exhausted to argue with this stubborn man.

"Alright, Tarin it is."

Krillin held his son. Little Tarin reached out a tiny hand and grasped one of his fingers.

A familiar, intimate flow of ki traveled through that finger.

Krillin smiled.

The world had become even more worth protecting because of this little life.

And he, Krillin, officially gained a new title father.
