Chapter 71 - Strongest Hidden In Plain Sight

"I'll kill you before those two meals arrive," Said Devenier, who was calmly leaning against the blood covered wall, not caring about his clothes. "I have heard that you can manipulate fate. Which is almost the same as manipulating reality itself. Though, you can only change future events."

Henry paused and slowly looked at Devenier, causing him to slightly clench his fist in anger. "Where did you come from? And what exactly are you trying to say?"

"If a person doesn't look at himself in the mirror then you won't be able to change what he saw in the mirror because he never looked at the mirror in the first place. Meaning, you can be defeated." Devenier said.

Henry laughed. "Oh? And can you prove that?"

"I can," Devenier replied casually. "However, I won't have to."

Before Henry could ask him what he meant by that, a figure appeared in the sky, who made a reddish cloud.

And suddenly, it started to rain but not with water.

Hundreds of tiny blood spikes rained down on Henry, making it almost impossible to dodge. Some pierced a slight part of his head, some his shoulder while some even managed to pierce his stomach. However, Henry simply laughed it off.

"That must be Ronx Falcon. How nostalgic. It was a great attempt but I cannot die. Fate won't allow you," Henry said, perfectly fine despite heavy blood loss.

"It is now time to face Fate," Henry said, causing Devenier's arm to explode instantly. Which made him vomit blood and turned his skin pale. "Who wants to be next?"

Henry looked up and smirked. "It shall be you, Ronx."

However, before anything could happen to Ronx, Henry felt a menacing and intimidating figure, causing him to freeze. "What is this...pressure that I am feeling? Even though I have fate on my side?"

Henry looked around to find out who this figure was but before he could, Ronx appeared right in front of him and moved his hand in a diagonal motion, moving it from up to below. Almost like a slash, which it in fact, created.

An air blood slash split Henry's body before he could realize it due to it being so incredibly fast. Furthermore, Ronx took out his Chronobreaker and shot him three times in the head just to make sure, the bullets pierced him and destroyed several buildings behind him from the sheer impact.

However, it was all in vain. Henry smirked and snapped his fingers, causing Ronx to be launched hundreds of meters away in a single second. Furthermore, his body had healed almost instantly.

"It is useless! You are simply wasting your time!" Henry said, extremely calm.

Though, his calmness would soon disappear since the presence that he noticed, had appeared right behind him. It was Alex.

"Being here for a few minutes made me tired of your 'fate' bullshit," Alex said, who had already taken a stance and was about to land a vertical and devasting slash. "If you can manipulate fate, then I'll simply cut fate itself."

Henry slightly laughed. "Oh my, look who it is. I was worried for a second but it's just-" Before Henry could finish his sentence, Alex split him in half vertically, a slash so huge and powerful that it cut everything in front of it for at least a mile.

Before Henry lost his consciousness, he noticed something. Devenier was perfectly fine and none of the tiny blood spikes had hit him. Henry said in shock, "Wait...you dodged them all?"

Devenier gave a slight smirk and in that moment, Henry's vision turned black.

"Great work," Devenier said, brushing off the dust. "I wanted to be here just so I could see the two legends in action."

"You are the real legend here. The world might have forgotten about you but I haven't," Alex said, placing his hand on Devenier's shoulder and then disappearing.

"Quite unusual of him to say that," Devenier thought with a smile.

Ronx had also disappeared without a trace, most likely returning to his home.

---------------------------

Maxwell and Kael were standing in the backyard of the mansion, which was over a hundred square meters and there were trees in a straight line that acted like a fence, surrounding the entire backyard.

"Welcome to the second test, I guess," Maxwell said with basically no facial expressions whatsoever. He had a straight face and looked bored. "If you can touch me, you win and then you can go home."

Kael smirked. "Seems easy enough, should I handicap myself?"

"No need," Maxwell said, adjusting his glasses. "Come at me."

Kael put all of his force into his feet and launched himself towards Maxwell, a trail of fire closely following him. And once he was close enough, Kael tried to punch him with his fire covered fist. However, Maxwell easily dodged it without even looking at the attack. "To think that I'd have to babysit someone like you is disgusting me. Maybe I should leave this little group after all."

Kael veins started to pop out from anger, which caused him to launch a barrage of fiery punches. Though, it was all in vain as Maxwell dodged every single one of them while having his hands behind his back. "Your anger causes you to have imprecise and weak punches. It's almost like I am fighting a kid."

Kael clenched his fist in anger and suddenly stopped. "Fine. You know what? I'll show you what I am capable of. Don't blame me for what I am about to do. Get ready cuz I'm gonna rip you apart."
