Chapter 9 - Chapter 8 — Following the Unknown

A few days after the accident, her life slowly returned to normal.

The bruises had faded. The pain had almost disappeared. Soon she was back at the supermarket, standing behind the counter like nothing had happened.

To everyone else, everything looked the same.

But inside her mind, things were different.

Every now and then, a single memory returned

him.

The stranger who appeared that day.

And the way he disappeared .

She didn't even know his name.

Still… she kept thinking about him.

Sometimes she wondered why a stranger's face could stay in her mind for so long. Maybe it was curiosity. Maybe it was something else she couldn't explain.

Finally, she made a decision.

I need to know who he is.

Her first plan was simple.

She would wait near the supermarket and see if he came there again.

That evening she stood near the entrance, pretending to arrange items while secretly watching everyone who walked in.

One hour passed.

Then another.

But he never appeared.

She returned home that night feeling slightly disappointed, though she didn't want to admit it.

The next day, she tried again.

And this time…

He came.

Her heart skipped for a moment when she saw him entering the store.

For a brief second, their eyes met.

Advik recognized her immediately. He remembered the accident and wondered if she had fully recovered. For a moment he thought about asking her.

Should I ask if she's okay?

But something stopped him. Maybe hesitation. Maybe the feeling that it would be awkward.

So he stayed silent.

Meanwhile, her mind was racing.

This is my chance.

She quickly walked to the manager.

"Sir… can I leave a little early today?"

The manager frowned.

"You already took many days off because of the accident. I can't give you another leave."

Her hopeful expression slowly faded.

The small plan she had prepared in her mind suddenly collapsed like a glowing bulb that suddenly went dark.

She sighed quietly.

Fine… I'll find another way.

Later that night, a new idea came to her.

If she couldn't follow him during work… she would follow him on her holiday.

So on the day of her half shift, she prepared carefully.

She wore a black hoodie, pulling the hood slightly forward to cover part of her face. She didn't want to be easily recognized.

After finishing work at noon, she walked around the streets near the supermarket, pretending to casually pass through the area while secretly hoping he would appear.

But he didn't.

The evening sky slowly turned darker.

Feeling a little foolish for waiting so long, she finally decided to take the bus the same bus he usually used.

I probably won't see him anyway…

But the moment she stepped inside the bus…

She froze.

He was there.

Sitting quietly by the window.

Her heart started beating faster.

Trying to stay calm, she sat a few seats away from him.

He didn't notice her.

He looked completely relaxed, wearing earphones, lost in his own world while music played softly in his ears.

She carefully took out a small notebook from her pocket.

If she was doing this… she would do it properly.

When the bus stopped, he got off.

A few seconds later, she stepped down too.

Keeping some distance, she followed him down the street.

The night air was cool, and the streetlights reflected on the road. Advik walked calmly, his hands in his pockets, earphones still in his ears as he headed toward his apartment.

She tried to look normal while secretly observing him.

In her notebook, she quietly wrote:

-Height: Tall

-Always wearing headphones

-Walks through the second street near the market

-Apartment building near the corner

She almost felt like a spy.

Just as he reached the apartment gate, she noticed something else.

Someone was already standing there.

The man approached Advik as if he had been waiting.

"About that house sketch and plan you gave me," the man said. "I'll start the work tomorrow."

She listened carefully from a distance.

So that was it.

He was involved in designing houses or building plans.

A small smile appeared on her face.

Finally… a clue.

Soon after, Advik entered the apartment gate and disappeared inside.

She didn't follow him any further.

Instead, she quietly returned home.

Inside her room, the walls were already covered with small notes and pieces of paper.

She added today's information to them.

Then she stepped back and looked at everything.

All the small details.

All the clues.

Slowly… she started connecting them.

And for a moment, she whispered softly to herself:

"Who are you really…?"

The mystery surrounding him was only growing deeper.

And strangely…

She wanted to discover every piece of it.
