Chapter 94:
Jack excitedly pushed open the church's main door. The rotten wooden door let out a piercing creak.
A musty smell mixed with some kind of rotting stench hit them in the face.
"Audience! We're inside!"
Jack lowered his voice and spoke to the camera in a deliberately mysterious tone.
The bullet comments were immediately flooded with viewers spamming "Fuck".
Yang Jian stood at the back. His super vision pierced through the darkness, taking in the entire scene inside the church.
Dried bloodstains on the pews, a diary placed on the lectern, and… the woman in red deep inside the church.
"Is all the equipment working?" Amy nervously checked the camera.
"The EMF readings are off the charts!" Mike exclaimed. The detector emitted a piercing alarm sound.
Tom suddenly pointed at the ground: "Look at this!"
There were dark red things on the floor, forming a line of words.
"Welcome to my wedding."
Lily's breathing quickened. She subconsciously grabbed Yang Jian's arm.
"This… this place feels really wrong."
Before she could finish speaking, the church's main door slammed shut with a deafening bang!
"Fuck! What the hell?"
Jack turned around and tried to pull the door handle, but the door wouldn't budge.
"Don't panic."
Tom forced himself to stay calm. "It might just be the wind!"
Everyone exchanged glances and continued walking forward.
At that moment, Jack at the front of the group suddenly stopped. The camera lens shook violently.
"Wait!"
His voice trembled slightly. "Did you guys hear something?"
Everyone fell silent, holding their breath.
Drip… Drip…
It sounded like water droplets falling — especially clear in the deathly quiet church.
Tom swallowed hard and whispered: "Maybe a water pipe is leaking somewhere?"
"This village has been abandoned for how many years? Where would a water pipe come from?"
Mike retorted. His detector suddenly flashed wildly, emitting a piercing alarm.
"Fuck!"
Jack cursed, but quickly forced a calm expression for the camera again.
"Audience, looks like we really ran into something! Send some gifts!"
Lily clutched Yang Jian's sleeve tightly, her voice shaking.
"You… you really don't think there's a problem?"
Yang Jian glanced behind him, his face expressionless: "You guessed right. There is a problem."
"Wh-what problem?"
"They've been following us the whole way."
"They?" Lily's face turned deathly pale.
She felt like she was about to cry. She shouldn't have come here.
Yang Jian didn't answer. He just gently patted her shoulder.
"Don't be afraid. They don't dare come close for now."
That's right — there were some evil-spirit-like things following behind them, but Yang Jian couldn't be bothered to deal with them.
At that moment, Amy suddenly let out a sharp scream: "Jack! Quick, look at the camera!"
Everyone immediately crowded over. In the live stream footage, several blurry black figures were clearly standing on the street behind them.
But in reality, there was no one behind them!
The bullet comments exploded instantly.
[Holy shit! Is this real?!]
[What the hell is that?]
[Wait! The camera just swept over — there was clearly no one behind them!]
Jack's heart pounded wildly. He forced a smile for the camera: "Don't panic, audience. It might be a device malfunction."
Before he could finish, the church bells suddenly began to ring!
Dong! Dong!
Everyone trembled.
"This church has been abandoned for so long — where is the bell coming from?!" Tom's voice cracked.
Mike stared at the thermal imaging device, his face deathly pale: "Up ahead… there's something moving up ahead!"
The camera turned toward the church. The main door was slowly opening. Inside was pitch black, like a giant mouth waiting to swallow them.
Lily was almost crying: "Can we… can we go back?"
Jack's face looked ugly. He gritted his teeth and shouted firmly: "No! We've already come this far. We have to go in!"
No one objected. After steadying their emotions, they continued forward.
Yang Jian followed quietly behind them. He had already detected that the moment they entered the church, a certain spatial fluctuation appeared.
This meant they had entered some kind of space — or rather, a domain.
They kept moving forward.
The pitch-black night enveloped the abandoned church. The air was filled with a damp, musty smell.
The adventure team advanced cautiously. No one noticed that the surrounding temperature was dropping eerily.
"Damn, why did it suddenly get so cold here?"
Tom rubbed his arms. The white vapor from his breath was especially visible in the faint moonlight.
His tall figure cast a distorted shadow between the dilapidated houses.
Another person silently took a modified salt shotgun from his backpack.
"Stop talking nonsense. Get the exorcism tools ready."
He lowered his voice. "I feel like something is watching us."
Jack, at the front of the group, was still excitedly explaining to the phone camera.
"Guys, look at this. This village is creepy enough! If you think it's exciting, send some gifts!"
His voice echoed in the empty corridor, sounding especially jarring.
Amy's hand holding the fill light trembled slightly. She forced a smile and said:
"That's right. This time we came fully prepared…"
Her words suddenly stuck in her throat.
Because the light illuminated the ground ahead, revealing a trail of wet footprints — as if someone had just crawled out of water.
At the back of the group, Lily's breathing became rapid.
"Don't you really think something is very wrong here?" Her voice carried obvious trembling.
Yang Jian had his hands in his pockets, looking as relaxed as if he were on a picnic.
"Aren't you guys professional adventure streamers?"
He said with a half-smile, "Why do you look even more nervous than me?"
"We used to go to ordinary abandoned places." Lily bit her lip and spoke softly.
"Ever since we switched to evil spirit exploration, Jack and the others have become more and more crazy!"
Thinking of this, she suddenly shivered.
"I have a bad feeling."
At that moment, Tom suddenly stopped: "Wait! Look at the ground!"
Everyone's eyes focused on the stone road.
Dark red liquid was slowly seeping out from between the bricks, gradually forming small puddles of blood.
"Fuck! Did the audience see that?" Jack's voice changed with excitement.
"This is real paranormal activity! No special effects added!"
Mike's detector suddenly emitted a piercing alarm. The needle swung wildly.
"Energy reaction is off the charts!" His voice carried unmistakable fear.
"This place definitely has a problem!"
Lily's face turned deathly pale. She clutched Yang Jian's sleeve tightly.
"Can we… can we go back? Please!"
Yang Jian didn't answer. Instead, he looked ahead.
In the corridor ahead, which appeared empty to everyone else, he clearly saw a woman in a soaking wet red dress standing there.
Her long hair completely covered her face. She was slowly beckoning to them. Her wedding dress was an eerie, vivid red.
"Interesting."
Yang Jian became intrigued. He was curious whether these evil spirits liked to scare people by playing hide-and-seek like this.
As they spoke, they had already reached the end of the corridor. There was only an old wooden door here.
Ahead, Jack held up his phone and shouted at the live stream room, forcing himself to stay calm:
"Guys, we're about to enter this mysterious door! This is definitely the first time you've seen anything like it!"
His voice sounded especially jarring in the darkness.
Behind him, Tom handed over a spray bottle filled with holy water. Jack took it and sprayed a few random bursts into the door crack.
Then, he slowly placed his hand on the handle. The wooden door let out a teeth-grinding creak and slowly opened a gap just wide enough for one person to pass through.
A rotten stench hit them in the face, mixed with some indescribable fishy smell.
