In Hogwarts Castle, the most magical place was the Room of Requirement.
Only when someone truly needed it could they enter—and it would arrange itself precisely to the seeker's needs.
Also the series' accident-prone hotspot.
Coincidentally, Hermione currently needed a venue. So after asking someone for opening details, she came straight here. Found the entrance.
Arriving at rows of planting stations, Hermione batch-planted Mandrake, Venomous Tentacula, and Chomping Cabbage seeds. Then pulled out her wand, pointed at the pots.
"Herbivicus!"
One Growth Charm down—hundreds of seeds broke soil simultaneously. Visibly transformed into seedlings.
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
Watering cans and fertilizer levitated. Sequentially watered and fertilized each planting station.
On the other end, Hermione opened her bag. Countless alchemy materials slowly floated out. Arranged in sequence on various alchemy tables.
Her thoughts stirred. Next second, a blood-red transparent gem materialized before her. Flew above the alchemy table. Emitted faint red light, enveloping the entire field.
Hundreds of magic-formed threads extended from the Philosopher's Stone. Connected to alchemy materials.
Light particles precipitated from materials. Gradually surged toward the Stone.
Though the Philosopher's Stone could substitute for alchemy materials, each use consumed energy. Not to mention centuries of Nicolas Flamel using it for many things—its energy long depleted.
Fortunately, the notebook recorded methods to replenish its power.
Through smelting alchemy materials or magical items, combined with Flamel's alchemy, could reversely recharge it.
This was also why Hermione needed S.H.I.E.L.D. to massively collect various materials in Marvel.
Moments later, Hermione retrieved the Stone. It emitted brighter red light. The entire stone like crystal, radiating mysterious aura. Obviously much better than its previous dim state.
Indoor arrangement complete. Walked through the inner door.
Just entering, Hermione seemed to arrive in another world.
Fresh breeze, green grass, mountain cliffs, blue water and sky.
"This is the breeding ground the Room of Requirement conjured according to my thoughts?"
Hermione muttered.
Opened her bag. A white horse ran out.
Hermione took out a vial of unicorn blood. Injected it.
Soon, the white horse fell into slumber. Motionless.
Stroking the horse's body, Hermione looked at the magic book.
[Unicorn (Transforming)]
Hermione nodded. Saw the white horse's head already beginning to slowly protrude. Just didn't know when transformation would complete.
Why is your head pointy?
After busying for long, time unknowingly passed several hours.
Returning to the hall, Hermione looked at the messy things and cabinets piled in the corner. Temporarily didn't touch them.
Though here was influenced by her thoughts—already became her shape... But things previously left by others wouldn't vanish into thin air.
Concentrating, the door reappeared. She directly left.
In the corridor, Hermione held a notebook. Calculating next actions.
Suddenly, from the corner ahead came several mocking voices.
Thoughts stirred. Things in her hands disappeared. Hermione walked forward.
Arriving nearby, saw three girls standing in the corridor. Two stood opposite another. Loudly laughed:
"Where we hid your shoes—we won't tell you. Find them yourself if you can, weirdo Lovegood!"
Another said, "Look in the mirror. So weird-looking. Yet dared to sit in the Witch's seat. We only dare watch from afar. What qualifies you to have her so patient with you!"
The platinum-haired little girl opposite blinked. Just about to say something when she saw Hermione appear at the corner. Immediately waved hard.
"Hi!"
As if completely unconcerned about the ongoing bullying. Face also showed a smile.
The two with backs to Hermione saw her reaction. Both turned around.
Seeing who came, hearts jumped.
"G-Granger, senior."
Seeing Hermione not speaking—just silently watching them—the two finally panicked.
"I... I was just joking with her. Who told her to disturb your reading..."
Hermione already understood the whole story from their earlier words.
Seems previously in the library, patiently chatting with Luna for a bit—even teaching her to master the Patronus Charm—made some people very unhappy.
Plus Luna's indeed peculiar personality. Behavior style, including viewpoints on some matters, vastly different from ordinary people. Thus suffered exclusion from other first-years. Even bullying.
No matter what world, such phenomena were hard to avoid.
Hermione beckoned to Luna. The latter bounced to her side. Quite lively.
Seeing Hermione had no intention of meddling, the two hurriedly bowed. Hastily left.
"I still need to ask them where they hid my shoes."
Luna watched the two walk away. Suddenly spoke.
Glancing down, saw she only wore a shoe on one foot. The other exposed.
Smooth white little foot gleaming.
"Think they'll tell you?"
Luna shook her head.
"Then why still ask?"
Hermione issued a soul-searching question.
Luna gazed at Hermione. "Then how can I get my shoes back?"
"Your wand?"
Hermione asked.
Luna took out her wand from behind her ear. Opened her palm.
"Know magic?"
Luna nodded. Expression somewhat puzzled.
"Use the Summoning Charm? But I don't know the approximate location..."
Before finishing, Hermione interrupted. "What Summoning Charm? Find a chance—beat them up. I guarantee you'll never have things go missing again."
"Way more useful than Accio."
Luna's eyes widened. Seemed to hear such novel theory for the first time. Tilted her head, fell into thought.
Hermione cast Accio. Pulled her shoe down from the rafters. Then left.
Just now when making eye contact with the two, she'd already used Legilimency. Found where the shoes were hidden.
Seeing Hermione walking farther away—until her back about to disappear—Luna finally recovered. Picked up the shoe from the ground. Didn't even put it on. Just chased after her.
Feeling uneven footsteps behind, Hermione hadn't turned around when her wrist was grabbed.
"Come with me!"
Luna pulled her and ran in one direction.
At least put your shoes on first... Hermione helpless. Could only run with her. Drew stares along the way.
Ten minutes later, the two arrived at the Forbidden Forest edge.
Luna finally released her hand. Put on her shoes.
"What for?"
Now Hermione was puzzled.
"Wait."
Luna still gripped her wrist. Afraid she'd run. Simultaneously looked up at the sky. As if waiting for something.
Moments later, a black shadow flew from the horizon.
