"Transcription Seal!"
As Retsu poured a massive amount of ocular power into Naraku's body, identical Mangekyō Sharingan patterns suddenly appeared in Naraku's pupils.
They spun rapidly for a moment, then sank into darkness, vanishing as if swallowed by an abyss.
"Done!" Retsu withdrew his finger and let out a long breath.
This transcription technique was extremely difficult to execute and had consumed nearly half of his remaining ocular power.
Fortunately, his current Edo Tensei body, while limiting his overall strength, freed him from worrying too much about exhaustion. His Mangekyō power would recover quickly.
"How did it go?" Kikyo asked immediately as he stepped back, unable to hide the tension in her voice.
Retsu turned to her and nodded.
"No problem. Everything's ready. Once my chakra and ocular power recover a bit more, we can begin the resurrection."
"Hey! Kikyo! Uchiha Retsu! What the hell are you doing?!"
Inuyasha's furious voice rang out.
Retsu turned and saw Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, and Sango rushing over—only to be stopped by a transparent barrier several meters away.
They could only watch helplessly.
"This barrier… did you set it up?" Retsu asked in surprise.
"Yes," Kikyo replied calmly. "I was worried the ritual might be interrupted."
Retsu smiled.
"Good thinking. Saves us from being disturbed."
Outside the barrier, Inuyasha and the others stared anxiously, completely confused.
After being bounced back yet again, Miroku sighed.
"Inuyasha, stop wasting your strength. You can hear them, can't you?"
Everyone turned to him.
The barrier blocked movement, not sound. With Inuyasha's hearing, he could clearly listen in.
"They… they're talking about revival…" Inuyasha muttered, focusing.
A moment later, his eyes widened.
"R-Revival?! Kikyo said the barrier is to keep people from interrupting it!"
"Revival?!" Kagome, Sango, and Shippo exclaimed together.
"Kikyo died fifty years ago, didn't she?" Miroku said in shock.
"And Retsu said he's already dead," Kagome added.
"Are they planning to use the Shikon Jewel?" Sango asked, staring at the scene inside.
"I don't think so," Kagome shook her head. "They already have plenty of shards. If that was the plan, they'd have done it long ago."
"Then why didn't Kikyo kill Naraku?" Inuyasha growled, staring at the motionless demon.
"This is our best chance…"
"We can't get in," Miroku sighed, sitting down cross-legged.
His body still hadn't fully recovered from the miasma.
"Look! They're moving!" Shippo suddenly shouted.
Everyone snapped their attention back.
Inside the barrier, Retsu's ocular power had recovered.
He looked at Kikyo and smiled reassuringly.
"Don't worry. The chakra surge will be intense. Stand a little farther back."
Kikyo immediately retreated several meters, watching him intently.
Retsu's expression hardened.
Boom!
His chakra erupted.
Light-blue energy surged from his body like a raging tide, whipping his long black hair violently, as if it were burning.
Crack! Crack!
The ground beneath his feet shattered, spiderweb cracks racing outward.
Yet all that destructive power was precisely controlled within a one-meter radius.
Kikyo and the hypnotized Naraku remained untouched.
A crushing pressure swept across the area.
It felt like a collapsing mountain.
"So… so strong…" Inuyasha gritted his teeth, barely enduring it.
Kagome, Sango, and Shippo collapsed to the ground, pale and breathless.
Retsu's Mangekyō spun wildly, pouring out every drop of ocular power.
At that moment, the hidden patterns in Naraku's eyes reappeared.
The sealed technique activated.
The Mangekyō symbols rotated madly, consuming the stored power at a terrifying speed.
At the same time, as if bound by invisible threads, Retsu and Naraku raised their hands together.
Their gestures were perfectly synchronized.
They shouted in unison:
"Outer Path — Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique!"
This was Retsu's ultimate trump card.
Using his unique Mangekyō ability, Ame-no-Uzume, he had copied Nagato's Rinnegan technique.
The Outer Path: Samsara of Heavenly Life was a Six Paths–level forbidden jutsu.
A Rinnegan-exclusive power that revived the dead at the cost of the user's life force.
But it was far beyond what a Mangekyō Sharingan was meant to bear.
Even though Retsu had replicated it, using it with Mangekyō eyes was like forcing an ant to pull an elephant.
The moment the technique activated, Naraku's vitality began draining rapidly.
The sealed ocular power was being burned away and was close to depletion.
Naraku possessed enormous life force, but lacked chakra and ocular power.
His version of the technique wavered, on the verge of collapse.
Meanwhile, Retsu's situation was the opposite.
His Edo Tensei body had no true life force.
Even with abundant chakra and ocular power, the jutsu couldn't stabilize.
Both techniques should have failed.
Yet at the brink of collapse…
A miracle occurred.
Both Samsara of Heavenly Life techniques originated from Retsu's Mangekyō.
Like twin flames from the same source, they suddenly resonated.
At the critical point of collapse, an inexplicable harmony formed between them.
