Chapter 46 - I'm still broke

Yuna:

Yuna sat there for a moment, still processing everything Luca had just said.

Then suddenly—

She stood up and walked around the table.

Before Luca could react, she wrapped her arms around him tightly.

"Thank you," she said softly.

Luca froze for a second, then sighed.

"You're acting like I gave you permission to get married," he muttered.

Yuna laughed a little, still hugging him.

"It's a big deal for me."

He gently patted her head.

"I know."

She pulled back, her face bright with genuine happiness.

For the first time in a long while, she looked… light.

Then suddenly—

Her expression changed.

"Oh wait."

Both Luca and Ethan looked at her.

"What?" Luca asked.

She blinked.

"I'm still broke."

There was a second of silence—

Then both Luca and Ethan spoke at the exact same time.

"You can use my money."

Yuna looked between them—

—and burst out laughing.

"You both even said it together!"

Luca rolled his eyes.

"Because it's obvious."

Ethan leaned back slightly, calm as ever.

"It solves the problem."

Yuna shook her head, still smiling.

"No."

Both of them looked at her again.

"No?" Luca repeated.

She crossed her arms slightly, her expression turning serious—but determined.

"No. I don't want to depend on either of you."

"You're not depending—" Luca started.

"I know," she interrupted gently. "But still."

She looked at both of them.

"I want to earn my own money."

Ethan watched her quietly.

"What do you want to do?" he asked.

Yuna paused.

The question felt… important.

"I was an actress before," she said slowly.

Luca frowned slightly.

"You were a successful actress."

She gave a small nod.

"Yeah… but that wasn't really my choice."

Ethan's eyes narrowed slightly.

"What do you mean?"

Yuna looked down at her hands for a second.

"My father forced me into it."

The room went quiet.

"I didn't hate it," she added softly. "But it was never something I truly wanted."

Luca's expression softened.

"You never told me that."

"I didn't want to complain."

She took a small breath.

Then looked up again—

This time, her eyes had a spark.

"I want to become a fashion designer."

Silence.

Luca blinked.

"A… fashion designer?"

Yuna nodded, a small smile forming.

"I've always liked designing clothes. Sketching, choosing fabrics… creating something from nothing."

She looked a little shy now.

"I just never had the chance to try it seriously."

Ethan spoke after a moment.

"Do you have any designs?"

Yuna hesitated.

"…Some."

"Show me."

"Not now," she said quickly. "They're not perfect."

"I didn't ask for perfect."

She looked at him.

His expression was calm—but serious.

"I asked for yours."

That made her pause.

Luca leaned back in his chair.

"So you want to start from scratch?"

"Yes."

"You know it won't be easy."

"I know."

"You'll have to work. Learn. Deal with people."

"I know."

"And you won't be 'Luca's sister' there," he added. "You'll be just another beginner."

Yuna smiled slightly.

"That's exactly what I want."

Luca stared at her for a moment—

Then a small smile appeared on his face.

"…You've grown."

She grinned.

"I'm trying."

Ethan spoke again, his voice calm but firm.

"If you're serious about this…"

Yuna looked at him.

"I am."

"Then do it properly."

"I will."

He held her gaze for a second.

"No quitting halfway."

"I won't."

"No running back when it gets hard."

She smiled softly.

"I won't."

There was a small silence.

Then Luca spoke again.

"Fine."

Yuna looked at him.

"I'll support you," he said. "But not by giving you money to waste."

She laughed.

"Deal."

Ethan added quietly,

"You won't need money if your work is good."

She raised an eyebrow.

"That sounded like pressure."

"It is."

She smiled.

"Good. I like pressure."

Luca shook his head.

"You're both impossible."

Yuna laughed again—

But inside, she felt something new.

Excitement.

Purpose.

And maybe for the first time—

A future that was truly her own.
