Chapter 51 - trying to reach yuna

Ethan:

The room was dim, quiet except for soft movements—

Until Ethan's phone rang.

Sharp.

Loud.

Out of place.

His expression changed instantly.

He pulled back.

Valentina frowned slightly, her hand still gripping his collar.

"The deal, Ethan—"

He ignored her and reached for his phone.

"Who's calling at this time…" he muttered, already irritated.

He looked at the screen.

Luca.

Ethan's brows furrowed.

He answered the call.

"What."

On the other side, Luca's voice came fast and tense.

"Where is my sister?"

Ethan frowned slightly.

"She's at the party."

There was a pause.

Then—

"Fucking idiot, Ethan."

Ethan's expression darkened instantly.

"Watch your tone."

"She's been targeted," Luca snapped. "One of your enemies is planning to take her."

Silence.

For a split second—

Everything clicked.

Ethan's jaw tightened.

"That's impossible," he said coldly. "Security here is tight."

"Then explain why I just got information about a move on her!"

Ethan didn't reply.

Because something felt wrong.

Very wrong.

Without another word—

He cut the call.

Valentina grabbed his arm.

"What's wrong, don't go the deal is still left?"

Ethan pulled away from her grip.

"I'll deal with it later."

Then he walked out.

Leaving her standing there.

---

Ethan moved quickly through the corridor.

His steps were fast.

Precise.

His mind already calculating.

He reached the main hall.

His eyes scanned the crowd.

Yuna wasn't there.

His gaze sharpened.

He checked the corners.

The lounge.

The bar.

Nothing.

A cold feeling started creeping in his chest.

He walked faster.

Then faster.

"Yuna."

No answer.

His patience snapped.

He turned and headed straight outside.

---

The cold night air hit him as he stepped out.

His driver was still there.

Ethan walked straight to him.

"Where is she?"

The driver froze.

"…Sir—"

Ethan's voice dropped.

"Where. Is. Yuna."

The driver swallowed.

"I'm sorry, sir… I tried to stop her."

Ethan's eyes darkened dangerously.

"Stop her from what?"

"She took the car… about an hour ago."

Silence.

Heavy.

Deadly.

Ethan's voice became dangerously calm.

"Why did she leave?"

The driver looked down.

"She was… drunk."

Ethan didn't react.

"She was crying," the driver added quietly. "She looked upset… and she drove very fast."

For a moment—

Ethan didn't move.

Didn't speak.

But something in his expression changed.

Completely.

Cold.

Sharp.

Terrifying.

He pulled out his phone immediately.

"Track her."

Within seconds, he was calling his men.

"Activate all units."

His voice was calm—but carried authority.

"Find the car. Now."

"Yes, boss."

"Check all highways. Coastal roads. Every camera."

"Yes, boss."

He ended the call and immediately dialed Luca again.

The call connected.

"Where is that bastard?" Ethan said coldly. "The one who's targeting her."

Luca's voice came, tense and frustrated.

"I don't know yet."

Ethan's eyes narrowed.

"You don't know?"

"I'm out of the country," Luca snapped. "I just got the information. I'm trying to trace it."

Ethan's grip on the phone tightened.

"You tell me someone is targeting her, and you don't even know who?"

"I said I'm working on it!"

There was a pause.

Then Luca's voice lowered slightly.

"Where is Yuna?"

Ethan didn't answer immediately.

"…She left."

"What?"

"She took the car. An hour ago."

Silence.

Then—

"Are you serious right now?"

Ethan's voice turned colder.

"She was drunk."

Luca cursed under his breath.

"Find her."

"I already am."

"Ethan—" Luca's tone turned deadly serious. "If anything happens to her—"

"It won't."

Ethan cut the call.

---

He stood there for a second.

Still.

But his mind was moving fast.

Too fast.

Something was wrong.

The timing.

The call.

Yuna leaving.

Crying.

Driving fast.

His jaw tightened.

"…Damn it."

He got into another car immediately.

"Start the engine."

The driver didn't hesitate.

The car sped into the night.

Ethan's eyes stayed fixed ahead.

Dark.

Focused.

For the first time—

There was something else in them.

Not just control.

Not just anger.

Fear.

Because this time—

He wasn't chasing an enemy.

He was trying to reach Yuna—

Before it was too late.
